I use this microphone capsule along with all the other available capsules on my Zoom F1 Field Recorder. The sonic characteristic of X-Y recordings is generally less "spacey" and has less depth compared to recordings employing an AB setup. This sonic image produced by this configuration is considered by many authorities to create a realistic, almost holographic soundstage. This microphone is therefore ideal for recording live music at concerts but also great for homebrew musical recordings.

Sound quality is fine, but for quiet stuff you get a load of hiss of you turn the gain knob up beyond about 5 (halfway).The shock mounts are ok, buy you still get handling noise if you hand-hold the recorder and don't keep very still. Plus they're super fragile - it looks like the thing is made of metal in the photos online and with that big stainless steel roll bar over the gain control, but the shock mounts use very thin and flimsy plastic - one knock and it'll break. Buy yourself some super glue - I've yet to find spares for these things. Really disappointed at how easily mine broke.

Bought this as at the third level on the old mics I was getting distortion so kept this at below 2 and it was too quiet! next gig will be better. canny mics get them great upgrade for live sound

Yo lo compré porque se me rompió la cápsula de la zoom h6 que lo utilizo para mi canal de yoytube y va estupendo. Me gusta muchísimo la calidad de audio que presenta, más que la cápsula que traía la grabadora de origen. Si queréis comprobar el sonido, poner en YouTube: luciérnaga asmr, y en los videos últimos es la grabadora que estoy usando siempre con esta cápsula. La recomiendo 100%
