Unicorn on a Roll (Phoebe and Her Unicorn)

My 7yo (who is now eight) wants the rest of the set so I obviously chose well with the firstone and it is encouraging him to read regularly. I can't afford all of them now but this was a good start and I must find the third soon.

Brilliant. My 7 year old finds these hilarious and unlike anything else in her bookcase. We are now collecting them.

My daughter loved the first book so had to get the second. Even better that they share the same name :)

Granddaughter found it somewhat confusing to read so she didn't enjoy it.

If you like unicorns and cartoon books you will love the Phoebe series.My son has read 3 books now - he wants the remainder of the series.

* What is it about?This comic book follows the lives of 4th grade girl Phoebe and her best friend Marigold, who happens to be a unicorn!This is technically "book 2" of the "Heavenly Nostrils" series but I hadn't read book 1 and totally felt like I could follow what was going on.The book shows 1-2 page stories / scenes that span over the course of a year, so we start with stories set in winter and end in summer. The individual 1-2 page scenes can stand alone, but there is also a sense of continuity throughout the book.* About the artwork:Super cute artwork. Very well-drawn, in a cute cartoony style I really liked and it's all in color (not all comics / graphic novels are!) which was great too!* About the characters:Really sweet, loveable characters. I loved the little details like how Marigold the unicorn wears legwarmers in winter :)I also had a soft spot for the eccentrically funny unicorn, "Lord Splendid Humility" who reminded me a little of the character "Wilson" from the TV Show "Home Improvement" because you never actually get to see him apart form the top of his head.* About the humour:I LOVED the sense of humour in this comic book! Genuinely made me smile and chuckle throughout. It's cute and funny and it's nice-humour (as opposed to mean-humour which you sometimes find in comics).* Other comic books this reminded me of:As I was reading this, it reminded me a little of the "Big Nate" comic series that I also really liked - although the latter is more targeted for boys whereas the Heavenly Nostrils is perhaps more targeted at girls, though both genders will probably enjoy both.Overall:I *loved* this comic book. It's funny and cute and beautifully drawn - just perfect!---I was given a reviewer's sample of this book for honest reviewing purposes

Great series - cute, funny, and gets kids thinking about more than YouTube. Skews a bit older than most cartoon series but that is a good thing. My 9-year-old daughter can't get enough of it.

My step daughter absolutely loves these books. I’m ordering her them all individually each month. Like a subscription. It’s fun for her and keeps her reading. Professionally packaged

A solid ending, but the book was not as funny as the first one, still I can't recommend it enough. I loved the gamer dad and the increasing interaction of Phoebe with her parents. We get to see more of the Unicorn world and strike peace in the school.
