Good for an ageing Syrian
I have just bought some of this for our rather elderly Syrian hamster. He has always had Harry Hamster, plus lots of fresh food as supplements, but his teeth aren't handling hard food well any more, so he's on a soft diet now. I thought I would try these, soaked in some boiled water, to make a softer main food for him, so he still gets all his nutrients, and they are very good for that. Plus he likes them. If you need to soak them, just a very small amount of boiled water softens them and then you can just break them up and mash them a bit. If you put too much water in they go too mushy. They have a smell which I couldn't quite put my finger one, but which obviously appealed to our hamster. I thought it was gravy at first, but now I think it's a yeasty kind of smell, a bit like ovaltine or other yeast products. I think they do have yeast in. I have given this food five stars, because hamsters need something all in one, that can be softened when they are older, and it contains all the nutrients they need. And there isn't much else that fits the bill. But - as a general hamster food I am not keen on the contents and I think if someone was to use this as a main hamster diet you would need to give them a fair bit of fresh food as a supplement, to keep life interesting and to have some real nutrition and vitamins, not just ones that are possibly artificial or quite processed. So apart from a bit of fresh veg every day, a bit of chicken, scrambled egg, fruit, nuts, pumpkin seeds and so on would be good to supplement it (for a Syrian Hamster). My one big gripe is that there isn't a single hamster food on the market that isn't chock full of soya to give the protein levels, and there is no organic hamster mix available. I wish there was.

Quality for money and a happy rescue hamster!
I don’t know what to say for flavour, but my new rescue isn’t into my custom mixes at all and I was advised to give him these instead. He pretty much wolfed several large pellets and has been eating happily for the last 2 wks. Major value for money and ordered an extra bag which is now stashed with the rest of my gangs food supply. If your hamster is a pellet type, I’m going to suggest these. Quality!

Great for hamsters!
This is the most recommended supplement for hamsters in the UK at the moment. I use this in addition to the Harry Hamster mix you can get from pet stores. There's really no beating this pair if you're in the UK at the moment. I'm currently using this for my two dwarf hamsters, and a quick google will help with portioning if you need it!I read a few reviews before buying and was really worried that my hamster's wouldn't take to it. I triple checked the ingredients, and nothing in there seems harmful to your hamster. This food is created *specifically* to supplement their diet, so contains lots of good nutritional bits and bobs to prevent selective feeding! (You know when they just hate those brown little pellets that come with all of the other food? Now they have no choice!). I had nothing to worry about because my hamsters instantly wolfed them down, and now I have two very happy and healthy hamsters!ALSO! A great size! I got 3 bags just because I thought this was a really cheap deal, but there's such a decent amount that it'll probably last me a good few months!

Decent pellet
This pellet is decent enough for hamsters, to add on top with your good quality hamster mix. However i find that they tend to not eat a whole lot of these, i think because they’re “bland”, but at least i know he has both and is getting everything he needs in his diet :)

Nibbles seems to like them!
Good value for money & Mr Nibbles seems to like them & seems to be thriving. I think these combined pellets are better as the Hamster can't root through to find his favourite bits and leave the rest which is a waste. With these Mr Nibbles takes them all into his little house :-) I tried these as the ones I had been buying before was a lot of waste. He rooted through these & only ate his favourite. They were more costly so I thought they would be better. But no; price doesn't always mean better.
