Brilliant device - amazingly easy setup
I'm amazed by how easy the G-Homa plug was to set-up.It was a case of simply downloading the Android app (there's an iOS one too), powering on the plug so that the blue light on the plug automatically flashes and, whilst it is flashing, selecting "add device" from the app. It's then a case of entering the WiFi router password into the app and the plug then automatically connects to the router. For those people who have used WeMo, the process with G-Homa is a lot simpler than connecting a WeMo plug to a router.I'm not sure how G-Homa has managed it but somehow the app is able to detect the plug and connect to the plug automatically whilst maintaining a connection to the router. It isn't necessary to manually connect to the plug's WiFi signal and then connect the plug to the router.I did actually have a small issue - a connection error - on my first attempt to set-up the plug but this was easily fixed on the second attempt: the whole process took 40 seconds. So this is, I think, a great plug for people who want something that is very easy to set-up. It was boringly easy! The plug supports, via firmware and the app software, a good set of options including timer settings with multiple on/off times so you can have several on/off times during the same day (I've tested it with six on/off times and more can be entered). There's a Monday to Sunday tick box that allows you to select individual days or multiple days for each on/off period. There's also a sunrise/sunset option that uses location and a basic meteorological database to synchronise on/off periods with sunset and sunrise! The manual on/off option in the app works great and I've tested the app manual on/off function using a cellular connection outside of my WiFi network. It's easy to use the device to turn an appliance on or off when you're away from your home where the plug is installed. It's interestingly rated at 16 amps with a maximum resistive load of 3680 watts. It is "CE" approved and is distributed by a British company called SMJ based in Wellingborough. The four page booklet that accompanies the plug contains a fairly long list of appliances that it is recommended not be used with the plug. I think it's likely that the list is a safety first overly cautious approach to high power items. "Kitchen machines" is a category in the list and it seems to be a very big category that would include everything from a coffee machine to a low powered slow cooker. "Room heaters" would be a device that I imagine many people would want to use the plug with. I've photographed the relevant pages so at least a potential buyer who would want to follow the safety first advice (which is wise) can do so.Everything considered however this is a truly great device with an installation and setup process that is easier than any I've ever encountered. On the basis alone it would appeal to non tech savvy users who want a simple plug and play solution. It's got a clean physical design with a pleasing matt white finish of smooth plastic and a weight that is much lighter than both versions of the WeMo plug.I just wish I had discovered it sooner before I paid more than twice as much for an alternative big brand product!

Does what it says it does with limited range
Bought two of these. Within a year one is already dead from what I believe maybe a mains spike. These devices don't look to come with any form of mains spike suppressor. Easy to access remotely. The only thing I noticed is that the range is not very far between the device itself and my wifi router. These devices are dumb in that they need a constant internet connection. No so good if your out of the city and rely on 4g tethering and a router which is at best unreliable due to mains and network outages. I would prefer a device that only needs the internet to either access or program the device and the device can continue without an internet connection.

Easy to set up, good value for money
The item was received within the given delivery timescale.I was most surprised with the ease of set up. There are instructions in the box, which are easy to follow and using it from the app is simple. I have only used it for a few weeks and it has a timer set on it to come on every evening and go off each night and it works great. Good value for money!

It just works!
Initial impressions are very good. Download the app, create an account, turn the device on, fill in the WiFi pasword and that's it. The device just works. Control it from anywhere you like. The timer software is straightforward and easy to use and the device build quality is good. Once the device is plugged in you can go back inside and set your Christmas lights or other appliance in the warmth. No more fiddling around with obscure little buttons in the cold and dark. I should add that the device is not waterproof and, like all other mains voltage kit, needs full protection from the elements.Hopefully it will stand the test of time!Addendum: I've been using this for about a month now and I'm still very pleased with it. However, there is a problem in that it is just a simple WiFi controlled on/off switched socket. Progamme control is provided via G Homa's app and their web site; there is no on-board programmer or memory. This is fine if you have constant access to WiFi, but not so good if your WiFi system or the internet is unavailable for whatever reason. Basically it just obeys whatever the last received command was - on or off. There is no local backup timer or remote control in the absence of the internet. You should consider this in the context of your proposed use, decide if it's a problem and then act accordingly! Secondly, in strategic terms, one can only hope and pray that G Homa continue to run the app and web site (subscription-free) for the foreseeable future....

At last a Wi-Fi plug that works.
After spending many hours trying to get another leading brand of Wi-Fi plug to work (and I do mean hours of frustration!) this one took less than a minute to set up once I had downloaded the ap. It works through my phone and tablet and has a very easy to navigate set of set up tools. Simple and Brilliant.

Didn't work for long, but found alternative
This worked for a bit then wouldn't connect to wifi. Reinstalled it again, worked fine for a while then won't work again.Just about to return it, will post if issues with refund! 6 months later: returned and refunded fine and then got Hictkon wifi plugs on Amazon, 2 for cheaper than 1 of these, and works perfectly. You don't need Alexia or other snoopers just wifi ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ very good
