Effective and free of chemicals
In an effort to avoid cleaning products which are laced with chemicals, we tried several of the more "natural" brands of dishwasher pucks. While some are less effective, we found that these Seventh Generation pucks are an excellent and effective alternative to the chemical products. They not scented and they leave dishes and glassware clean and clear. The only situation where they do not match the effectiveness of the conventional pucks is where thick food has been allowed to harden on plates and a short washing cycle is used. We think it is totally sensible to simply quick tap-rinse heavy residue prior to loading washer. We use only the one-hour short cycle, thus saving hot water, and everything comes out sparkling clean. We highly recommend this product if you are concerned about harsh chemicals touching your dinnerware and cutlery. Price is competitive.

Cleans really well!
I have been using the detergent with the red ball or red liquid in the center for years. It does work well to remove grease and stuck on food but as you know, it kinda smells like chemicals once the wash and dry cycle has been completed. I also found the dishes weren't as dry as they could be, despite the use of a drying aid.I decided to give this a shot. There's no smells that I can detect and it does a great job with the heavily stained dishes. I haven't noticed much of a difference between this an the other brand I was using. I also found my dishes dried better. I'll continue to purchase this when I run out. This is a great product!

Love/Hate Relationship
I love that the scent of these pods is very light--barely there. I also love that it does a good job on the dishes, etc. However, I hate how the pods are of different sizes, instead of a uniform size. I've had some pods that were so under filled they were worthless. I've had some pods so over filled that you can't close the cage. Do you just toss these into the machine wherever? Would the plastic on the pod just melt as well as putting it in the cage? Some real high points for this product, and some lower ones. I do have to remind myself that having that horrible scent that comes with most pods just doesn't seem healthy. I stopped using other pods because I often care for a baby at my place, and I just couldn't give the baby a bottle that reeks of weird, obnoxious scent. It didn't seem healthy. Washing the interior of the bottles after washing the bottles in the dishwasher is just too much, also. The whole point of pods is convenience, in my view. It would be very convenient to have a standard pod. I love everything else about the 7thGen pods.

Nice, but with issues
This has made my glassware much less spotty.Though there are sometimes still spots the majority of my dishes are clean. I do have a terrible dishwasher, so it may be the cause of all my problems when dealing with this soap. These tablets work well in terms of how easy they are to use. Drop one in, and on your way. I have to flatten my own a bit or the hinge won't close fully, nothing major. The major issue though, is my silicon items are fill of white residue. Again this might be from the low quality dishwasher I have, but being that I am the only person who does dishes, I don't want to do them all by hand everyday, so I sometimes use the dishwasher.I would say that given the level of clean I see in most of my dishes, these are worth 4 stars, but I can't know for sure right now if the missing star should be the result of my dishwasher or the soap.I have used vinegar as a rinse, but that doesn't work at all. My dishwasher seems to self heat the rinse cycle no matter my choice and must burn or darken the vinegar, so I had to stop using it.4 out of 5 loads are 90% clean. 1 load of 5 is sometimes in question if I didn't pre-clean some of the heavier filth on the dishes.Knowing how poorly even the brand name soaps perform, this is a nice product. I wish I had a lot of money to have a nice dishwasher so I could give this a review that most people can follow, but for those of us with low quality dishwashers, this works but not perfectly.

Soap scum
I love Seven Gen line of products. Their liquid dish soap is amazing and always gets the tough grease off so I had high hopes for these dishwasher pods. However, they keave food and soap scum behind. I thought maybe it was my dishwashers fault, so I ran a cleaner through it and scrubbed the filters, but this still happened. Hopefully there will be a dishwasher pod that fulfills its promises soon. In the meantime, Im going to go back to liquid soap.
