Buffing is the quick and simple process of lightly rubbing a nylon scourer (included with purchace) over the dry painted surface, this will release thousands more holographic crystals that are just waiting to break out. In most cases this will increase glitter coverage from 1% to 5%! Can I use any type of emulsion paint? Generally yes, any standard vinyl emulsion: dead flat, matt, soft sheen & silk all work well, but avoid 'durable' & scrubbable type paints such as: 'one coat', kitchen & bathroom, Endurance, EasyCare, Valspar Premium and acrlylic eggshells. Whats the best way to mix this glitter? Empty a 5 litre emulsion can into a clean 10 or 15 litre bucket, then you will have loads of room to mix, if paint seems a little thick after mixing, add up to 10% clean water to help the paint flow and get max sparkle! So how does this product work, because I have tried adding various types of glitter to paint without success? Quite simple, the Crystal Glitter mix is coated with a PTFE type coating on one side, this coating actually trys to reject the paint film, hence why you always get some glitter showing on the surface. In addition, this is why the quick buffing process will release so many holographic crystals.Are PTFE type coatings safe? Yes, they are used in many non-stick coatings for pots and pans eg.Teflon. In addition, they are used for coating some medical equipment because bacteria find it hard to adhere.We all know how crystal glitter works, right?
