The nearest thing I've found to being in an authentic US diner...
I'm an Americanophile (is that even a word? – I like all things Americana). I've also been lucky enough to get to the States quite a few times in my life (both east and west coast). And the thing I love most about getting there? Pancakes or waffles for breakfast :DNow, British pancakes have there place. But you really have to try American waffles and pancakes to know that American ones are far superior in taste and texture – at least as a breakfast dish.So in a bid to spice up my weekend breakfast, I decided to try this Bisquick pancake mix to see how I got on. The result? I have to say, these are the closest thing I can imagine to sitting in an American diner in Manhattan and having pancakes and coffee for breakfast. The guide on the bottle says 'use water to mix', but I prefer to use semi-skimmed milk instead. When cooked correctly, they're just the right side of sweet. They have a taste and texture that's more on the side of 'cake' than 'fried batter mix', and have this kind of very subtle crunchy, sugar coated flavour when eaten. They make quite a few pancakes depending on how large you like them. The beauty is though, if you can't finish the whole bottle in one sitting, you can keep it in the fridge for a few days for a later breakfast. Either that, or just make the whole bottle and freeze the ones you don't eat.I team these with 'Log Cabin' syrup for an authentic all-round yankie-doodle-dandy taste. My only slight regret is the packaging is somewhat wasteful (big). But then again, it has to be, to allow you to add water/milk with enough room to give it a good old shake. It shows recycling icon number '2' on the bottom, so I guess I can recycle it to make myself feel a bit better. At a touch over £10 for three bottles (so like £3.50 a bottle), they're good value when you think of it as a big breakfast for two or three.I highly recommend them and am confident you'll like them too if you love American breakfasts.

American style pancakes for the win!
As a proud Brit is kills me to say this but English style pancakes are foul. I wouldnt eat them if someone paid me - these American ones however are absolutely delicious! I like them sweet with sugar and chocolate, I like them savoury with bacon. They are just bliss! So easy to make from this shakeable bottle! The ideal buy for pancake day! Fabulous!

Good Pancakes but they are not Crepes
The mix is ok, easy to make but for someone used to lighter crepe style pancakes these "American" ones take some getting used to and personally I didn't. This is no reflection on the product but more my taste. So give it a try if you like thinker pancakes but if you like crepes I wouldn't bother.

They were definitely easy to make but a bit messy
We bought these to have on Christmas day. They were definitely easy to make but a bit messy. I will definitely buy again. What I would say is it says it easily stores in the fridge once it's mixed together but the bottle actually expanded a lot and the mixture completely ruined.

Makes yummy American pancakes but definitely shouldn't leave the batter ...
Makes yummy American pancakes but definitely shouldn't leave the batter in the fridge longer than a day or two as it starts sticking to the pan

Grteat mix
Makes really nice pancakes. just add water mix, wait a few mins and then cook. no messing abut with eggs and flour. I tend to put in a little more water to get thinner pancakes.
