4x250g 1.75mm Nylon/PETG/Flex/Hips - Filament Set for 3D Printer - FrontierFila

I didn't print with HIPS so just reviewing the other 3 filaments. I really bought it for the clear petg and flex. I did ty the nylon and was pleasantly surprised. Very little warping and printed well on a prusa mk3 with glue stick. The print was a bit messy and it being white meant that it gradually collected leftover bits of burnt filament that were dislodged by use of the higher temperatures. However it was strong, had good layer adhesion and worked well for the price. Giving it several hours in a warm oven as recommended helped a lot.I LOVED the petg and flex. The flex I found printed really well with a standard flex setting, but needed a little extra fan to adhere properly for small pieces. The final results were strong and flexible. The PETG I particularly liked. I printed a number of items which all came out really nice. Will be trying more of this brand in future.

I wanted to try a variety of filaments since each has different requirements - Flex for example can be hard to drive down a Bowden tube. I've had good and bad experiences with each filament in this set and are learning what works: slowing down the speed to about 50% on the initial raft for the red flex works well with my printer, for example. It also helped with adhesion to the print bed. This is a great way to learn more about 3D printing materials and the description of each reel in the details was very helpful.

Great sample pack to test different types

It’s great to try new types of filament. I adore the flex red because it’s shiny and flexible. The PETG transparent is currently printing a lid at 250C and heat bed of 65C. All it takes is a bit of research, forums etc. to get a good guide of successful settings. The 4 different reels are great for the price - and let’s face it - certain projects will not need a full Kg of blue silk or flex red etc. This is something I will get again.

I've only just received the package, so I've not tried using them to print anything yet - so my score might go up once I've done that - but I just wanted to make an initial post expressing my disappointment that none of the reels are labelled.This pack contains four different types of filament (which is partly why I ordered it), but as I have no idea which is which, it's going to be a case of trial and error with printer settings - and a lot of wasted filament - trying to work that out.
