iXium® Damp Detector Wall Moisture Meter Plaster Wood Caravan Latest Model + Free Carry Case & 9v Battery

Bought this to guage whether or not a damp patch on my ceiling was drying out or whether the roof was still leaking. Have taken readings around the impacted area and will do again on a couple of weeks. Device seems to work - zero reading where I know plaster is dry and progressively higher readings as I move to the source of the leak. Batteries provided lasted all of 5 minutes but once replaced device did its job. Not bad for a tenner.

I use this meter for wood logs for my stove. It does just what I want it to do. No more, no less. I checked the reading accuracy against a friend's more expensive model and there seems to be no difference in readings. It certainly looks & feels cheap. The way the buttons work & the general appearance. But, hey- it is cheap, so you get what you pay for.. As long as it does the job right I am happy with it.

Although there is no way of testing accuracy it seems to work very well. It is easy to compare different substrates which will indicate relative dampness and whether the indicated percentage dampness could be a problem. All in all, it is a satisfactory piece of kit and a bargain at its price. On the downside, the 9v battery supplied was completely flat,so if the meter appears not to work,fit a Duracell which doesn't mind long periods of inactivity.

thank you so much glad I read the reviews before buying your product I had left a good deposit on a caravan in December so yesterday I went to pay the balance before I did I used your damp meter around what seemed like a immaculate caravan guess what behind the seats in the lounge and hidden by the cushion was a hugh area of damp it would have cost me over £900 to put right if indeed it could me put right so deposit returned still looking for a dry van and you meter will go with all the time now Thank you very much Barbara

i bought this to measure the water content of the logs in my store and it does the job very well. it was delivered quickly and comes in a nice carry case. its chunky and feels the part and fitting the batery was easy. the only thing i dont like about this was the instructions. although its very easy and straightforward to use the instructions seem to have been written by someone who does not fully understand english.

Useful item to have in a tool box. Being a widow and fairly ignorant of such matters it would be helpful to have an idea of what the readings indicate and when there is a real damp problem. I'm presuming that because my reading in a problem area was low, I don't have a problem but I'm not entirely sure and don't want to have the decorator in if the problem hasn't gone away.

This is a great meter easy to use and comes with good storage case to keep it safe and also guard to protect points
