A fun book to be enjoyed by reader and child alike
I'm now into the 3rd generation of Richard Scarry's books. My daughter, grand children and now my great grand son. The characters are beautifully drawn. It all started this year when four year old Brody asked." What is a spirit level". I knew it was time to order more Richard Scarry. They are a fun way to teach children electric, gas and how things work. The only down side is they are very American.

Great mini book
Small format book (smaller then A4), with a lot of pictures.Richard Scarry is a classic childrens' writer and even though his illustrations have a Bavarian feel, he is an American writer. This is one of his must read books.I don't think the small format suits his book very much because of detailed, intricate illustrations, nevertheless it's a great book and is very recommend for young kids (2-6 years in my opinion). And small size makes it cheaper which is always good!

a day at the firestation
I bought this book for my 2 and 1/2 year old son. He loves looking at the pictures and pointing things out whilst I read it to him. In the story , some painters arrive to paint the fire station but find it tricky as the firefighters are rushing to and fro . The place ends up in a mess but they pull together to clean the place up . It mainly focuses on the painters trying to do their job rather than the firefighters doing theirs but hey, the kid loves it.

fun fire engines
This a well produced book, absolutely ideal for a young child who has a passion for Fire Engines. Presume it has been taken from the original Richard Scary book that my children had over 30 years ago, but it is still delightfully funny and attention holding. A great book to get the child to talk and look in detail at the great fun illustrations.
