I hoped the holes would be a bit bigger as it mentions they are good for children and beginners. My child's needle barely fits though the tiny hole.

My partner is the crafty sort in our house and is always working on something!When she saw these she thought they would be good for making some cross stitch embroidery style patches.In that sense she was right, they are perfect for small craft items like coasters or patches.However the Aider holes are so small that even she is struggling with them and she says a child could be put off trying this hobby altogether because it is possibly just too hard unless a very fine needle is used.However if you are looking to make any small, finely detailed items these are perfect and the range of colours could make your work really stand out!Happy to help

8 colours of good quality aida. please note this is 14 count aida though..so not really that suitable for complete beginners as the holes are small. Also if it was to be little set for beginners i would have expected needle and few sample patterns included if not some coloured floss. so if you have needles, and small patterns you want to try then this is definitely one for you.

Bought for grandchild as a sewing aid but feel more suited to an adult beginner than a child as the weave is very tight and the holes v small so not very easy for small digits.

Dispose, it is cheap and thin and not very good
