A great read :-)
This book was really enjoyable and well written. Some of the smaller bits of the plots you can work out, (like who dates who), but the bigger underlying bits had me guessing until almost the end ! It starts off at the local orphanage, (which you need for the plot), but soon moves to a local farm and life on the farm with the ups and downs you would expect, especially when the war is hardly over. I don't want to give the story away by saying to much about, but I can say it's a very good read with lots of bits of the plot keeping you guessing ! It's not just a romance, it's not just a farming book and it's not just a book about the war and life trying to return to normal after it, it's all of those things and much more ! A great read that I would recommend :-)

a lovely Story with insight into farming life & the Lincolnshire country side.
he Tulip Girl. by Margaret Dickinson. this is a really lovely story with so much in it, set in Lincolnshire 1910. we meet the main character Ester Everatt, who is 16 years old , she has arrived at FLEETHAVEN POINT TO SAM BRUMBY'S FARM, SAM needs help on his farm but is none to pleased to see a girl asking for the job. So Ester has to prove she is just as capble as a lad. the story goes on as Ester & Sam agree to work together, also on the farm is Matthew, who comes & helps on the farm. who has an eye for the girls. the story follows Esters ups & downs in her life her friends that help her, & some that do not. you will want to read just one more chapter just to see how she is managing.

A truely sensational read.
The Tulip Girl. Margaret Dickinson.---- Oh my goodness me she really knows how to tell a story. I got absolutely carried away with this one from the very beginning to the very end, A woman I didn't even know mentioned she'd read it and I thought I'd look and see if I could find it as a Kindle Book--- YES--- so I bought it, so glad I did, I was in buckets of tears at the end,It moved me so much that I have now just purchased another of hers ( The Fleethaven Trilogy ) I Haven't read her books before, but I know I'm going to enjoy reading a lot more of them. WELL DONE MARGARET.

Enjoyable and easy read
Well written story, in a manner which is easy follow and no character mix ups or confusion with story lines. It holds suspense and mystery while at the same time holding predictability in certain story lines. This would make a lovely Summer or Christmas read, or even on a train. It's nota story to over think or question. Just go with it.I quite like the characters and the story plot.

A gripping read
First book I have read by Margaret Dickinson but I don't think it will be the last. I guessed the truth before it was revealed as I am sure others would, but it was interesting to learn the twists and turns that brought the story to that conclusion. A good story, well written and with a reasonably happy ending!

Tulips
Loved this book so much maybe because it brought back so many memory's of my childhood. I was brought up in Norfolk and dad took us to see these Tulip fields every year and what a sight they were. I never saw the Tulip floats in Spalding but my eldest sister went many times, I waited till many years later and went to Holland to see the best display ever.
