Pretty good
They worked! No hassle with the ballast. Who wants to fool around with wiring? I like the color temperature of 3500K. It is neutral. Neutral white. It is not tinted yellow, like 2700K, and it's not tinted blue, like 5000K. It's right in the middle: 3500K. I like the frosted tube. I also like Frosted Flakes, but that's not important right now. The frosted tube almost completely disguises the string of LED lights inside. When you have a clear cover on the tube, the tube looks naked and it reveals the string of LED lights, which I find to be too different-looking from the norm. Maybe in 2030, people will like the clear covers and it will be the norm, but, the frosted cover makes the bulb look almost like your standard fluorescent tube. However, if you really stare at it, then you can see deep inside, a string of pearls. A string of LED lights. But it's subtle, so don't worry. I liked these 2 bulbs so much, I ordered a couple of 12-packs.

Not something the average consumer should purchase
In the end I was actually pretty happy with this product. Brighter than the fluorescent bulbs it replaced, longer life, no toxic waste, came with handy warning stickers so people know you rewired the fizture and it provides the highly diffused light of a typical fluorescent bulb. There is a lot to like about this product. There unfortunately is the undeniable problem that this is not something the average consumer should purchase. It isn’t plug and play. In order to get it to work I had to rewire my fixtures. Worse, it came with poor instructions and the rewiring is slightly different then the top hits on YouTube. The amount of work rewiring the fixture is probably the same as just replacing the fixture. If you don’t want to rewire, buy a fluorescent bulb. If you don’t mind rewiring seriously consider replacing the entire fixture with one intended for LEDs.

Not as scary or complicated as described
I was a bit scared by the descriptions and comments recommending an electrician install these. I wanted a plug and play solution for my existing florescent fixture in my garage. When they arrived I opened up my fixture and found it to be a standard ballast, so I plugged them in and they seem to be working great so far.

Hard to find 3000 K led replacement for T12 or T8 florescent tube
This led bulb is about as bright and similar light color to a 40 Watt warm white florescent tube. The soft light of the 3000 K led is very pleasing. I used it in a fixture that originally hadi a T12 florescent tube. The tumbstones are not shunted and we're fine for the led. I rewired the fixture with the hot lead and the neutral on one side (one tumbstone), and the other tumbstone with no wires. I don't know if it is important (others have said it is), but I wired it so that the "L" on the led bulb was in contact with the hot lead and the "N" in contact with the neutral. It works perfectly. There is no flicker - just pleasant warm bright light. The fixture is under a kitchen cabinet and above a counter top. IMO the 3000 K light is FAR more pleasant than the cool white (5000 K) florescent tube that it replaced, and the hot, energy wasteful ballast is gone.

A Very Nice Color Temperature
Although tubes were very well packed, one arrived cracked, but works just the same. The Natural Light color temperature is nice for both in home and shop use. Not too harsh and not so warm that you could go to sleep standing up.

MUST BE WIRED CORRECTLY - DIRECTIONS NOT DETAILED ENOUGH FOR MOST
These work very well when installed correctly (so far - we will see how long they last - If they fail in a short time I will attempt to update my review)INSTALLING THESE CORRECTLY IS INVOLVED!MORE CLEAR DIRECTIONS REQUIRED FOR AVERAGE DIY.LED BULBS ARE POLARITY DEPENDENT.L=LINE=HOT=BLACK WIRE.N=NEUTRAL=WHITE WIRE.This is not explained in the directions and is important!!THE ONLY MARKINGS ON THE BULBS are a faint L and N which are only on one end of bulb and are easy to miss.EXACT PINS TO USE ARE DIFFERENT for DIRECT WIRING vs BALLAST INSTALLED WIRING.YOU CANNOT USE JUST ANY PINS FOR EITHER WIRING SETUP.As both wires coming from my ceiling fixture were black, I had to manually wire up an outlet tester to determine which wire was HOT and NEUTRAL. Be prepared!
