The price on this has dropped tremendously since I received mine. The current $18.99 is a very good value. It comes nicely packaged and includes a nice selection of flavors and accessories. You have to direct the flame from the torch straight down into the wood chips towards the glass and actively burn until the glass fills with smoke. Less depending how much flavor you want. Put the little lit on top to snuff the flame and leave the entire thing on the glass again, for however long your tastes prefer. You can do this with any kind of food or drink as long as the smoking lid covers your container. This is a fun way to add interest to cocktails both visually and in flavor.

While I am not a whiskey type drinker, my husband is and states that this is a great kit. It comes with six small tins of wood chips in varying flavors. An igniter for getting the wood chips to burn and then the screen topper for the top of your glass. He says it puts off a nice burn and the flavor is subtle, but does definitely add to the flavor of the cocktail. He is excited to try this on other things like cheese and appetizer like meats.
