Lowery Extra Long Frame Adaptor - 14 Deep

I purchased this so I could put large scroll frames on my Lowery Floor Stand. It certainly does the job and I'm happy with it, but I had to make a modification. I cut about 3 inches off the top (used a mitre saw) so I could flip my scroll frame over and get to the back of my stitching. If you don't trim it, it'll get caught on the chair and you can't flip your work over. With this modification I can use up to an 8" side bar (stretcher bar) on the scroll frame...if you want to use a 10" side bar you'd better not trim it.

Takes awhile to get used to this because it is so different from my other stands. I am having my Needlepoint store order the larger base. It does tend to tip if the piece you are working on is not exactly over the base when you swing it out of the way. This will be my travel stand. It does come apart easily, which is nice.

However note that the accompanying instructions are rather cryptic and lacking in detail. The photo above shows my frame extender fitted onto the Lowery floor stand, with the floor stand's clamp "hand" grasping the wooden upright of the extension unit.

The adaptor on line looks like the wood is finished in some way ie stained or varnished. I was very surprised to receive an unfinished price of wood. It did not seem to be a 38 dollar value at all. I have not had a chance to use it yet so am not able to comment. I hope the actual Lowery stand will be more satisfactory.

A must have with a Lowery stand with large scroll rods.

So easy to move the project back and forth, which makes working on your project easier.

Mine came unfinished. As in the wood is unfinished. And there is a smell on it. A chemical smell probably something to treat the wood but I don't know. The pictures of the product are all finished wood and nowhere in the description does it say that the wood is unfinished. I'm afraid that this will not last long. I hope I'm wrong.

Great item and works great but I think it is over priced.
