Do the strings have ball end?

I commented on both EJ 16 & EJ17 strings. Both have standard 'ball' endings. I would imagine that the 15s would be the same. Personally I wouldn't go as light as this as you would undoubtedly lose tone.

I am a beginner and have an ibanez concord 647 acoustic guitar but have snapped the low e string. would these be good for me?

The phosphorus strings are quite popular for acoustic guitar they give a warm and full sound. At the same time they are light gauge so they also have a bright sense to them and you won't put any strain to your instrument. The quality is also excellent! I would say they are perfect for the use you want :) Enjoy

Dear TangKwanShing, This is an acoustic guitar: go with 12ves top string which provides tone: 14s is madly too much & too heavy for the neck. Different companies strings DO have different tones & last for different lengths of time. I would buy (I always do buy) D'Addario EJ16-3D are the strings I use on STURDY acoustic necked guitars - for more fragile or older necks I use 10s: EJ15-3D. More effective than strings on maximizing the tone of your guitar is to fit a composite bone saddle to the bridge & 2ndarily a composite bone nut.

I just started learning guitar with a steel string acoustic will these strings be a good replacement for any broken strings?

Callum: These are a Medium Gauge string. It will not be a good idea to use a medium guage string if the set already on the guitar are a Light Gauge. D'addario are an excellent make, so the brand is a good choice. But it is very probable that your guitar has currently got a light gauge set on it. Stick with D'addario light gauge if that is the case. And if you are in doubt, I would be inclined to take the guitar to a good music shop and ask them to change the whole set for you when and if you break a string. They will advise on which gauge to use when they see the guitar. Good luck, and do remember your strings are very important. Paul.
