nice, but upsold
I received this saber a couple of days ago and I've been torn on how to review it. My first impression was what an amazing saber I can get for around $100 and I was ready to give 5 stars. Then I did a ton of research and no I'm not sure. The hilt of this saber is a LGT SABERSTUDIO hilt that you can get for $24 elsewhere, and you can get a blade of equivalent or higher quality for $20, so let's anchor the value of this lightsaber at $44 or less. There is a huge marketplace for lightsabers and in retrospect I probably would have gone with one from crimson dawn, although they also source from LGT so who knows. Now for my thoughts on this product specifically:- It definitely seems durable- The sounds and customizable LED colors are great, although I have come to find out this is industry standard. Note that there are 9 sound fonts which are each a character. This affects all of the sounds (turn-on/turn-off, background sound while on, blaster deflect, lock-up, clash, hum while swinging, and audio clip shout)- What's with the grip tape they send you? It only has a sticker on one end and no instructions for how to apply it. It almost immediately came off, and I've had to redo it a few times within a day of play and add my own foam tape to keep it attached but it's so flimsy it keeps rolling down. I'm planning to look for some other grip tape to use.- The instructions give you three sets of commands for three different products - ECO Smooth Swing, Pixel Saber, 9 Fonts Base. After some exploration I've found that none of these are correct. The actual instructions are basically the same as the set given for the 9 Fonts Base except that: * (in wake mode) 3 flashes = cycles through background music * (in wake mode) 4 flashes = cycles through sound fonts * (while on) 3 flashes = shouts an audio clip in the currently selected sound font- The diffusion in the blade is pretty good but could definitely be better. The far half is dimmer than the near half and the cap has some rings.- As a 5'7" person the 36" blade is longer than ideal for doing spinning tricks. I think 28"-32" is more my size. I've heard that the blade length should match your inseam length.- There are no instructions on how to apply the various screws. I've come up with a configuration that work for me after some trial and error.Overall you can clearly see that this company is just trying to dump some leftover product insufficient documentation. If you absolutely need a lightsaber within prime delivery window I guess go for it but otherwise I'd look elsewhere.

AMAZING!
INSANE FOR THE PRICE!!! I own many saber going upwards of 500 dollars in price and this is better than some of them I’m not joking! I’m in shock with how good the smooth swing is on this saber. Although yes the blade is not very durable so watch out for that. BUY ITS AMAZING!!

Minor learning curve, assembly easy but.. not. Over all though, 100% worth the value.
If you're looking for a great Value This is it. I only knock off a star for when you first get it. Let me explain. When you get this you have to assemble it. Now, not unexpected, however! The 4 " Screws you get are INSANELY tiny which makes it enough of a pain, Then the instructions you get are.... well honestly not helpful in putting it together. Very tiny print and hard to read because of that. The good point is it's not difficult to figure out, however the Allen Wrench I got to put this together, Was to SMALL!. No joke it just spun around in the screw. Thankfully I have multiple sets of Allen wrenches and was able to just use the next size up.Now that said. Once you get it together, from there it's just a learning curve of how to control it all from a single button. The instructions again are.. not overly helpful but give enough to get going. The sound is clear, the light seems good, plenty of colors to choose from. In short, if you're looking for a really good Saber for Cosplay or what not and don't want to spend 400 500 bucks on a top of the line deal. This is a GREAT option that won't break the bank.Despite the 4 stars, I'd 100% recommend this. 90% of the frustration comes from putting it together.

Cool lightsaber
Bought this for my beloved nephew. My only criticism is how the "manual" (let's call it that) is... let's say a little concise: two small cards, no assembly instructions, although thankfully you just have to turn a couple of screws. Also, when we turned it on I was kind of cringing because the constant music was incredibly distracting, thankfully you can turn it off pronto and leave only the excellent sound effects (or silence it completely). The result is impressive when you get the hang of the different commands: everything is controlled through a single button, you have to memorize the number of pushes needed to, say, change color, turn on/off music, change effects volume, etc. .The saber looks really neat, good enough for a fan film I guess, and reasonably sturdy, not really for smaller children though (for them I'd recommend inflatable lightsabers I've reviewed elsewhere on this site). You can choose a blade color between a wide array (blue, cyan, white, yellow, red, purple, pink, light green, dark green...) and change it according to your current preference. The kid loved it, although, to paraphrase Master Yoda, using it indoors in a room with breakable objects.... wise, it is not.

JUNK, DON'T BOTHER
Bought for my teenage son as a birthday present and it didn't even last a week. He wasn't even dueling or being abusive with it either. It stopped working one day and I took it apart and it smelled bad like fried electrical parts. Tried to contact the seller for refund or replacement but been getting the run around. Spend the extra money and get a nicer one, I wish I had.
