I bought these to use with my wood burning stove and so far so good, although I've only been using them for nine days. They are thick and sturdy and will hopefully last longer than the original glove which came with the stove. That glove burned or melted at the finger tips and there was almost nothing left of the thumb and forefinger because of the heat from the knobs for adjusting the air flow. Also, sparks from the fire when adding wood caused the glove to burn but so far this hasn't happened to the new gloves and I feel confident when using it (I only use on one hand). I haven't picked up hot logs inside the fire so I don't know how the gloves would cope with contact on a burning log. If they need adjusting I use a poker.The gloves wouldn't be any use to me for barbecuing as they are a bit big for my small hands but my husband tried them on and they fit him. It's not what I wanted them for so it doesn't matter to me.EDITED 11 months later.The glove (just one used for the stove) has been well used and has some orange singe marks on a couple of fingers (hardly surprising) but hasn't burnt through. The cuff comes over my wrist and I've been able to confidently put my hand in the fire to adjust a log. I wish I'd bought them years ago.

They work very well. Excellent heat protection. Nice & long to cover wrists & lower arm.

These gloves have revolutionised my life. No more burnt and blistered hands from a bit oven and no more burnt tea towels. They do what they claim. I can take pans straight from the oven without getting burnt. Best but I have made all year.

I have to say that I am disappointed. After reading the reviews I thought that these would be the ideal gloves to use with our new wood fire oven but sadly not. You cannot grab a pot from the oven and carry it in to the house as the heat penetrates the gloves almost immediately! Even to lift the lid off the pot to take a look you have to do very quickly!

The product it's ok. It works fine for a few seconds, but if you hold a hot pan right from the oven for more than 5 seconds you will start to feel the heat in your hands. But they worked fine.

Just received today. I have already used them and they are superb.The big differences are the inner lining for comfort and most of all the high tech aramid fivers used protecting you from the heat source.Well worth the money and highly recommended!

Initial thoughts seem to be very good.Well made, durable, they are large! Not for anyone with small hands.I experimented by holding a boiling hot saucepan by the bottom which had been in the stove for about 15 minutes. As described I started to slowly feel warmth but well and truly protected my hands.

I use this product for all my cooking with hot dishes and find them very good for heat resistance and they are not too clumsy to hold things with. That are also brilliant with dishes from the freezer.

They definitely protect against high heat, no more burned fingers! They are large are great for larger hands.

These are amazing! I buy them every time I need a manly gift. Easiest way to move the log that shifted in the fire pit! I stole the first pair from my husband because they are so much easier to use than oven mitts. Everyone I have bought them for raves about them.

Way better than standard oven mitts. So nice being able to grip things that used to be somewhat slippery with mitts, and it can withstand a lot more heat. I use this around the kitchen all the time to make my routine much easier for so many things!
