Found this when my old hard drive eraser decided to give up the ghost. Works at the same speed (around 4 hours for a 500GB drive on HMG-IS5). I've done around 30 drives now, all sanitised without a problem. Checked using a software recovery tool and cant get a thing back after a 36 hour deep scan, so works brilliantly.

This is perfect example of something that only does one thing and does it extremely well. I had a pile of hard drives I needed securely erased. I just plopped them in and followed the easy instructions and then walked away and let it do its thing. I erased 10 hard drives in a row and encountered no problems. Note: it is not fast process 4TB WD Blue 3.5 inch hard drives took a little over 23 hours to wipe with a 3 pass DOD secure erase.

My StarTech eraser arrived well packaged; "the construction build is outstanding" and menu selection is more than sufficient to do the job. I even used recovery method's in attempt to recover information from the drive after it was sanitized and failed. The unit lived up to it's name and passed with flying colors, I highly recommend this item when it comes to sensitive information removal.

I like this Stardock Drive Eraser dock. Easy to use, and always do a greate job. Very good quality also.Its only one thing i didnt like. The eraser dock couldnt handle WD VelociRaptor hard-drive ?The eraser dock become dangerous hot, and couldnt finish the eraser job with WD Velociraptor disks.But the Eraser dock works fine on all other disks.Another thing ... The price is to expensive for many customer.This item could sell much more if the price was lower.I almost canseled my order because of the expensive price, not because of the quality of the product.I hope more people could afford to buy this greate product, and experiance the eraser dock tool on their hard-drives.
