Great resource for a difficult time - highly recommend in preparation for when you'd need help
As a married women hitting her golden years, anxiety has set in about what to do if my spouse would pass before me. What is most important? Who to contact? What documentation would is needed? How to reach companies that he took care of? What can wait? This book of only 133 pages was a wealth of information. It is thorough, well written and easy to read. It is presented in 2 parts: Immediate pressing first steps (like who to inform and organizing what would be needed), and then secondary concerns like social security and tax returns.I'm very glad to have found this treasure and highly suggest to get a copy now, so that you can be prepared, and hopefully ease some of the burdens and difficulty with end of life of your loved one.

WORTH THE MONEY
I bought this book in print form for my financially unsophisticated spouse after it was recommended by a reviewer on a wide ranging financial site called bogleheadsforum.com. The book is uncomplicated and points up the immediate basic needs right after someone's death as well as other considerations as time goes on. It's premise is that the bereaved may not be thinking clearly and reacting totally rationally in the days and weeks following the loss of a partner - and some pertinent reminders for the near and long term financial requirements are appropriate. My spouse also liked the fact that the book is compact and lightweight so it's easy to read in bed.

Excellent, easy to read guide
Being in our 70’s, I bought this book to PREPARE for the death of either myself or my husband. I wanted to make sure I have all the things organized in advance. I’ve been doing it myself for awhile now. But I wanted to make sure I wasn’t skipping anything and to make sure I organize things in a way that can facilitate it during a very emotional time. In our case, I handle all this stuff now and my husband would be absolutely lost if I go first. So I’m really doing it for him. That said, I may not always be as able to do things when the time comes. So this would also facilitate things for my son, if he needed to help. All in all, I found it to be a very good, easy to read book and heartily recommend it.

Valuable nuggets and important guidance no matter where you are on the journey.
This is the third Mike Piper book I’ve purchased. He has a knack for explaining complex subjects in down to earth language. His books have provided value on topics where I’m already knowledgeable as well as those where I felt clueless. I’m currently managing the affairs of a deceased loved one and was eager to buy this book as I knew some of the contents would be relevant even though it wasn’t a spouse who passed. I’ve had several aha moments already, and I purchased a second copy to mark up with notes for my spouse to use as a guide (when the time comes).

Easy and simple to understand
I ordered and received "Death of Your Spouse" and read it through quickly and found it simple and easy to understand while giving very useful information and guidance. My wife just started reading it and already is asking questions. It will be a good reference for her. I will need to reread it to make specific notes for us. I believe it will be very helpful when needed in the future.
