Great gift for grade school kids
My 7-year old grandson loved this. He opened it on Christmas and spent quite a long time playing with it. He then proceeded to ask family members math questions. I think this will be a fun game for several years as it goes from basic math up through division. It also came with batteries, so no need to rush to the store.

Turn your kid into a machine
Bought this for my autistic 6 year old in hopes that it would give him a head start academically. Its been fourth months and he plays with it the majority of every day. He knows all the numbers and can solve most simple equations I give him. Thinking of buying him a statistics book as soon as he can read. He'll be an accountant by 15 at this rate!

Good for learning, annoying voice you can't turn off
First, this isn't a calculator, it's a learning game. Second, when I removed it from the package, the screen had dirty finger prints on it, and there was a long hair hanging out from one of the buttons that seems to have gotten in there during assembly at the factory. When I get something for my kids, I expect them to get it dirty, not for it to come dirty. hahaThe voice is somewhat annoying and can't be turned off. I can see myself putting tape over the speaker area in short time. This is a nice tool for learning and practicing though. It would be nice if you could do addition without subtraction, multiplication without division, and vice-versa, for example, to practice multiplication without practicing division at the same time. Not the most intuitive thing in the world, had to read the instructions to figure out the different modes, but comes with a short instruction manual, so that's ok.In a nutshell, good for learning, very annoying voice that can't be turned off, and arrived dirty with a hair stuck to it.

Terrible purchase, do not buy this toy!
Definitely not worth the money. Directions of use are unclear. It has 2 options of either English or Chinese language but even the English version is difficult to u.understand because the voice is that of a Chinese person. NO THANKS.

Great game to help with math skills
I bought 2 of these for my grandchildren, ages 7 and 8, to work on both addition/subtraction as well as multiplication/division. The games make it a fun way to drill on their facts. Being a retired elementary teacher, I was concerned about my grandchildren not being ready for their math classes in school. I feel using these games will help so much.

My son loves this fun talking calculator
My 5-year-old son already liked addition and this is now a fun way to introduce him to subtraction. As homeschoolers I was trying to make him use workbooks but he got really frustrated trying to sit and trace numbers. This is a great alternative and makes a math test feel like a game! Not only does he prefer it to math workbooks, he even prefers it to cartoons. We love this product!

Neat little device for my third grader
Bought this Christmas for my son in third grade who struggles with math to try to motivate him to practice his math skills and so far it has worked! The math games are timed (length of time increases with increasingly complexity of the questions), so he does sometimes feels pressured so I wish there was a way to adjust the length of time available until his skills improve (perhaps there is if I read through the included instruction booklet. I am impressed that it came with a small screwdriver and a set of batteries so you are set to use it right out of the box! A great little device for a reasonable price.

Comprehensive Core Math Learning for Elementary School Kids
This electronic math device looks like a calculator, but is so much more than that. The LED screen is very much like a standard calculator and is not backlit. The cute design makes it appeal to kids. A mini screw driver and 3 AAA batteries are also included. The various modes encompass beginner math from addition and subtraction, multiplication and division and then two-digit addition and subtraction, and there is also comparison in all the modes. There are 3 games and the repeating the pattern and memorization ones are really good. The memorization becomes quite difficult with 6 or 7 digits even for an adult. If any of the exercises start to get easy, you can add in a 5 or 10 second timer in any of the modes and games to make it even more challenging. There are 2 volume levels and is a bit loud even on the lower setting. On high, it is very loud. The voice can sometimes be hard to hear and though meaning to be encouraging can get repetitive.Aside from English, there is also Chinese/Mandarin. This could be beneficial for those wanting their kids to learn Mandarin. Also, the volume seems to be a couple of notches lower than English.Overall, this is a very comprehensive core math learning device for elementary school kids. The voice and volume controls could have been better, but that is nitpicking when it comes to how much they pack into this small device, and I would recommend it.
