A Systematic Review of the Documentation of the Medjugorje Phenomenon and its Witnesses During the First Seven Days.
We believe because of evidence, yes, but also because of the implicit virtue of the Seers…the visionaries. I see a material faith by the Church and their vetting is appropriate to their role, but faith from God comes from the heart. Why do people believe? Isn’t it because “Belief” comes from a sacred state within Man himself? Of course this is true. The Miracles of Medjugorje are for a separate volume and consideration. The Miracles are classic and real. The misunderstood aspect of Medjugorje is the impact of Faith in the World. We work against a tide of materialism and spiritual quitters…against the “Unfaithful “ who ARE so because they fear the risk of spiritual warfare and the social consequences of ostracization. We live in that world also. “While you are in the world you will have trouble: Fear not: I have overcome the world.” (Jesus’s words).

Review
Very informative book that considered both sides of an ongoing issue. If the apparitions are indeed authentic, they would be a very unique visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the history of the church, she having entered in a special way into the very chaotic situation of human existence yet guided by the light of truth dependent on individual freedom and choices.
