Review: Best Energy Drink on the Market? - Red Bull is the classic energy drink, to which all others are compared. Most energy drinks have either 32g/100ml of caffeine ("high") or 30g/100ml ("low"). Cheaper energy drinks, like Boost and store brands, are low, while the more expensive examples (Red Bull, Monster, and Relentless being the most common) having being at high. Monster has an equal ratio of caffeine as Red Bull does, as well as the same amount sugar, so the primary distinction is the flavour (with secondary distinctions being the vitamin/ mineral amount, and the volume per unit (can, or plastic bottle for the low varieties)). Red Bull's flavour is noticeably lighter than many of it's competitors (though only "crisp" if served at ~4 centigrade/ 38.87 fahrenheit). Red Bull, just like every other consumable thing, has less flavor at the lower ends of temperature, meaning any crispness will have been served straight from an ice pack, with the drink becoming much more flavoured at moderate drinking speed (roughly four minutes per 473ml). Monster, on the other hand, has a much 'fuller' flavour to it, with the fruits used being more pronounced, and the aroma more pungent. Monster has a much more forgiving optimal temperature range, although the flavour is much more inhibited at straight-from-the-icepack temperatures than Red Bull is. Whilst both drinks have a certain bitterness about them, Monster's aroma and slightly more present acridness allows it to be enjoyed with a greater variety of foods (really, anything except oily fish (and apparently dairy products, but I wouldn't much know), although I have found that spicy foods are quite complementary) than Red Bull, but this is much more subjective than other aspects. Monster is ONLY available in ~500ml cans, which, while bested by Red Bulls variety, is of greater volume. Red Bull's largest can, at ~473ml, is quite close to Monster's; overall, Red Bull is more convenient is these terms, although this is firmly rooted in market success, and can be somewhat easily modified in the future (think of how many different volumes of units you can get Coke and similar products in). This makes for an interesting distinction of spectrums; Red Bull has greater accessibility for time period of consumption group organisation, while Monster is superior for context of consumption. While this is a review for *this* specific product, Monster in general also has a greater variety of subtypes, although Khaos I personally find less pleasant, and the more novel types I haven't tried). In terms of the sugar-free types, though, I do favour Red Bull. Finally, Monster is a clearly and plainly superior drink in terms of nutrition, although this typically isn't a make-it-or-break-it aspect for most people. This specific product will probably need to be cooled before consumption (though you probably didn't need it A.S.A.P. from desertcart anyway). In general, Monster can be better enjoyed from the fridge than Red Bull can. Economically, however, all high energy drinks, even if better per volume, are much less effective than low, cheaper types, with some drinks offering litre bottles at *less* actual price than the high units (more pronounced with Red Bull, if only due to the smaller cans available than other high varieties). Overall, a very pleasant energy drink that plainly deserves its recognition as one of the leading energy drinks on the market.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are all of these cans 2xp for call of duty as shown or are they just normal?**
A: Mine were all Call of Duty

**Q: Do the can have the black ops 3 on the top?**
A: No probably not. I don't know why they do this. When I bought these cans they had Ken block on the can in the picture provided and when I received them they were just normal cans. I paid more for them because they were a gift for someone who really likes Ken block and monster but it was rubbish. I'd say check elsewhere. You can definitely find better value for money :)

**Q: It is the new Monster? Can you close it after you open the can?**
A: No, this is the standered 500ml cans.

**Q: why does it show original and comes with "super dry" flavour instead?**
A: Hi Joshua if you do not like this flavour just return it. I’m sure it was just a warehouse issue that could easily be corrected by a return.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great drink and great value
*by S***M on 21 June 2026*

Not much to complain about really. Monster is one of my go-to energy drinks and this is exactly what you'd expect. It tastes great, gives a decent boost when you need it, and the 500ml can is a good size. I bought these because they worked out cheaper than buying them individually in local shops, so the value for money is excellent. Arrived well packaged, tasted fresh, and did the job. If you're already a Monster fan, you can't really go wrong. Great drink, great value for money, and I'd happily buy it again.
