These bikes come with the new 10.2ah LG batteries and the existing 7.8ah battery that came with the bikes. the existing battery has decreased in strength and may only give limited usage time , the new higher amp battery will give an average usage of 45 to 65 km depending on speed, terrain and user weight

Stylish fun!
My daily commute into Central London and back is around 9.5 miles, so for me, this Chinese-built folding e-bike represents fantastic value for money. The build quality is excellent, with some good, named-brand components. It's only slightly let down by the battery which doesn't really compare to other e-bikes, but then I'm talking about bikes that are way more expensive. A.N.A. Distributors are to my knowledge the only company making this bike available in the UK. In Europe, it's slightly more expensive, and in the USA they have a comparable e-bike with traditional spoke wheels which is almost twice the price. This bike looks great in the city, which is a bonus. It's slightly on the heavy side at 22 kg but then it wasn't designed to be transported on the train or bus on a regular basis, more to be stored away when not in use. I use the 5 power settings sparingly, spending most of my journey on 3, or 4 on long inclines. I could probably achieve 20 miles between recharges, but prefer to charge the battery every day (every 10 miles) so I can use the higher speed settings and maintain the battery life. At 5' 7" weighing 65 kg I probably get the best from my battery, but it's still not in line with the manufacturer's estimate. The battery is probably in the region of 7.8 Ah which is pretty low.The bike has a 7-speed Shimano derailleur with a 52-tooth chainring, so downhill your legs will max-out at around 20 mph. I cruise at around 14 mph and when your legs start to burn you simply notch up the power, or slow down to allow the battery to take the strain. I like the fact that the Kenda tyres are specially made for e-bikes from an extra-durable rubber and as such are more puncture-proof. The front light runs off the battery and is perfect for lighting the way at night. The handlebar mounted display panel is easy to use, and the small, rubber buttons sensitive enough to control even through winter gloves. The cable disc brakes do their job, and the Zoom front forks soak up some of the impact from potholes! They're non-adjustable, low-end shocks, but again, this is a commuting bike. The saddle is comfy too.Overall, the Smart S2 is a sturdy, good looking, urban e-bike for shorter runs, at an unbeatable price for what it offers. What's more, the owner at A.N.A. Distributors, Imran, is a very friendly, helpful and communicative seller who made me feel valued as a customer.

I have been using this excellent bike for many weeks now
I have been using this excellent bike for many weeks now. I can't tell you how many people have complimented it. Recently I was motoring up a hill and I could see a man in lycra behind me in the distance on a racing bike, he caught up with me eventually and asked 'Has that got a motor in it?' I told him it was electric and he told me he was wondering why he couldn't catch me up. All the accessories are really high quality and it just feels and looks really sturdy. I am a 5 foot 10 man weighing about 16 stone and it hurls me along at 15 mph for a range of about 10 miles on maximum assistance. It is quite heavy, however once folded it is possible to drag by the rear of the saddle like a trolley bag. I paid £750 for mine and I think that was a bargain, a great bike, buy it.

Very happy with this bike
Very happy with this bike. Impressive and solid build quality and features. Seller gave it a 9/10, and I agree that's about right. Manufacturer is [...], who make motorbikes and have the appearance of a sound/professional engineering business. Bike is very well made, with good quality parts, including Tektro Aries disk brakes and the well know Bafang electric drive motor, widely used in ebikes. Bike folds as small as eBikes do. With saddle fully extended it comfortably fits my 6' 3" height, so should fit most people unless taller. It also handles my weight (90kg) easily. It is moderately heavy at 22kG... but that's the same weight as the popular Kwikfold Xite which doesn't come with front suspension forks or cool looking 3 spoke alloy wheels. The electric pedal-assist motor easily handles the weight... though limited to 15.5mph in accordance with UK law. The Top Gun suspension forks are well made, although non-adjustable... but adjustable forks would significantly add to the bike price. The forks help improve stability on uneven surfaces... which helps due to the small 20" wheels characteristic of folding bikes. That said, 20" wheels are better than the popular Kwikfold Xite's 16" wheels for stability. The Kwikfold may be better if you need to carry the bike on-off trains, etc, but in that case I would get a bike weighing around 16kg like the Apollo B52 (which is 6 kg / 12 lb lighter). But if you need a folding bike due to limited storage space at either end of the journey, the Smart S2 is ideal, but with the benefits of a very robust/solid frame and build quality, (without loads of nuts/bolts to rattle loose and/or keep checking as with the Kwikfold Xite). I also think the solid one piece frame and alloy wheels make this one of the best looking folding ebikes on the market. The user instructions weren't the best translation from Chinese to English, but were readable and functional. Whilst there were no instructions for the handlebar electronic control unit, I found it easy to operate, including switch from kph to mph (just press/hold '-' AND '+' keys and hold for 3 seconds to get menu, then select '2'), 'mph' to 'trip' to 'odometer' press/hold '-' AND 'M' keys and hold for 3 second. To turn electric mode on or off, press and hold the 'M' key for 3 seconds. Havn't had bike long enough to test battery duration, but with the std Bafang 250W motor and 8Ah battery pack capacity, it should perform like most bikes, with 20 to 40 mile range (depending on how much pedaling applied). In accordance with UK law, this bike doesn't have a twist throttle, but selecting the one of the 5 speed settings is easy during riding. And basically, you just need to set it to your preferred speed (select 1 to 5 on electronic control unit), and start from riding from 0mph. The speed setting basically limits the top speed. Bike comes with a powerful white front LED light, driven off of on-board battery, plus button cell battery powered red LED rear light which can be set to 'on' or 'flashing'. Bought mine from A.N.A Distribution (Leicester) last week, who I met in person when collecting the bike. They operate a professional family business, and apparently have a background in bicycle sales over many years outside of the UK.
