Multivet Ssscat Kit Automated Cat Repellent Deterrent Spray + 2 Refills

My new boy cat, who had previously been 'going' outside, started peeing/spraying in my kitchen sink for no apparent reason! As you can imagine, I quickly began to lose patience with the little git as, having got him checked out at the vet, there seemed to be no reason for it other than pure laziness.We tried locking him out (not fair on the other two), shouting and spraying him with water but he clearly didn't have the brain cells to work it out! He was on a very quick path to finding a new home.Then I discovered Sccat. What a fantastic product. We had had an air canister for when the Christmas Tree was up but that rather depended on you being there to catch them in the act. This little beauty works on motion. Take a look at some U Tube videos to understand completely how effective (and hilarious) this is! We even bought a small camera to try and catch him at it but the spray came early and we just got on with it.What can I say? Not one puddle or any footprint near my sink or window sill since! It's amazing. It has caught us out a few times as we have been leaving it on if we are out in the day, overnight or upstairs for any length of time and forget it's set when we come back. Also, we only a few weeks in and have used all three canisters and don't feel we have been caught that many times - so either the cans don't spray as much as they say, or our boy is still trying his luck!I would completely recommend getting this unit but having read some other reviews, I am going to try buying ordinary air canisters for dust removal instead of the official refills, as these are vastly cheaper.

Worked as a charm the first month, but then the detector was not functioning properly anymore and my cat could come and go scratch the bedroom's door again :( Too bad because it was effective, but disappointed it lasted so short. Now I have a useless bottle and I'm not willing to pay that price again.

This worked well with our cat - no peeing has reoccurred in the protected area. He also seems wary of any similar spray can!. The cans of spray seem to last pretty well (a month already). I think that those who have complained about how long they last must either have been setting it of themselves a lot, or have a cat that wasn't put off by it (some seem to not mind the effect). Once the cat has discovered the nasty effect they tend to stay clear of that area for a goodly while (a couple of weeks) even when the can is removed.

I used to have a lot of problems with my cats jumping onto the kitchen counter and scratching doors. Now, they don't go anywhere near them! Excellent product and I'll certainly keep on buying them.

cats got use to it

Works very well. One of my cats avoids the kitchen counter. The other one still needs to be reminded of the spray, specially when there's food on the counter, but it's the most stubborn one of the two. So far, only needed one of the bottles. Only problem, reminding the humans that the spray is activated, othewise they get sprayed.

One feature I didn't think through with this item, is the amount of light necessary. My problem area is an interior bathroom. My cat wants to saturate the carpet. I shampoo the rug and have to let the room air out, and the cat hits it again. Unless there is plenty of light, this item doesn't activate. I don't expect it to work in the dark, but it needs either sunlight or definite artificial light to function. My bathroom has an extremely noisy fan, so I can't leave it on all the time. I will experiment with extra lights.

The system works, but I took 2 stars off because the refill cans emptied so quickly. This is also true with the refill cans I purchased separately. I set the motion detector in the entryway of the room I wanted the cats to stay out of and after a few sprays they avoided the area completely. For awhile just seeing the can kept them at bay. Hopefully, the company will listen to the consumer and correct the problem with the cans or lower the price due to the actual amount of sprays it gives. The high cost of replacing the cans makes it very difficult to continue using the system, so I know when this happens the cats will venture back into the area.

This product has saved my life...ok maybe it more likely saved my cat's life. Makes training soooo easy. I've even used it at the front door to teach the cat not to run out the door when I come home at night. No more kitty on the counters! It's amazing. I use this in a certain place for training than even if I remove the Sssscat the cat wont return to that area (counters). I occassionally have to put the Sssscat back in place for refresher training; maybe a few times a year. Simple

A total waste of money

This product works purrrfectly!!!! I was having issues with one of our cats spraying a curtain in study. Another cat decided to start pooping in the same area!! I placed a can of Ssscat in the area in question and no more problems!!! Yay! Problem solved :-)

Works great for my 2 kittens! The long term effect wears off within a week or 2, wo I keep the spray can in 2 places at all times. I'm curious if it changes as they get older and a little less curious/energetic.

This started out to be a training aid for our cats to keep them off the counters. It works outstanding for that, but we have found also the dogs respond to the sscat. Its a great tool !

Buy this product, which came defective. Although I've been in contact with the seller, I never had a concrete answer about what you should do. The product is completely erratic when it comes to work, does not work well. No useless. It was a total waste of money. I feel my money has been stolen.

Product arrived defective. Motion detection unit would not latch on to the canister no matter what I did to get it to connect. Looking closer at the unit, it is a very poor design. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
