Handpicked Collection Carpet Beater

Could see the dust on the top of daughter's curtains, and after great discussion with each other we decided that perhaps buying a carpet beater and beating the 'h'll out of them would probably be the answer. The beater arrived very quickly and was well packed in a cardboard box packed with paper, so no sweat as it all is recyclable. The beater is substantial and beautifully made - looks rustic - really nice. My daughter left the job to me (which was great - I think she could see I was really keen) I pegged the curtains on the washing line and had a great time seeing the dust flying out of them and hearing loud thwack after loud thwack - God only knows what the neighbours thought I was doing - warning you can get carried away doing this! The rest of her curtains are now scheduled for a good beating, and then I will start on my own. The beater now has pride of place hanging on my kitchen wall - ready for action whenever needed. Everybody is a winner! You can take your aggression out of the curtains and not your 'old man', it is so eco-friendly and cheaper than sending curtains to the dry cleaners. A really good buy.

We bought this as a present for one of our domestic slaves, sorry, I mean servants. Hope she enjoys it for Christmas. We normally supplement her pay with £5 for Christmas but this year we thought that we would push the boat out as we have just sold our villa in Tuscany at a huge profit. Generous to a fault you will no doubt say but its so hard to find domestics that are prepared to work a twenty hour shift and stay loyal.

I haven't used this beater yet so why have I only given it two stars? Because it has a cheap metal ferrule compressed onto the end of the handle and that ferrule has an unfinished rough/sharp edge on the end facing the beater. As this is an item that needs to be used with some vigour I think there is a risk that the user's hand could slip towards the end of the handle and possibly be grazed/cut by the unfinished edge.My solution has been to cover the offending edge with tape. I hope this works but this risk simply should not exist. Perhaps I've been too generous with my two stars?

This is a type of willow basket weave carpet beater and I am hoping it doesn`t break the first time I use it although it seems very strong, but not as good as the original ones I remember which lasted for years then was put our due to not using as much

Good buy. My rugs have never looked better. I have silk rugs which I was scared to beat but no probs. This gets the job done without harming the expensive rugs. Would recommend.

Beats the carpets well just the power of the arm

I would have liked it to feel a little more sturdy, having said that it does the job and is fit for purpose!
