Rock On

For fans
I've been looking for this album ever since one of the tracks appeared on a Sandy Denny boxed set cd. Not all the tracks are to my taste, Sandy's version of That'll be the day is awful - not that I particularly like the origional Holly version - and Trevor Lucus does not do much for Don't be Cruel. The rest is great though. Mind you, it is worth pointing out that I am of an age to remember these songs when they first came out so nostalgia plays a part. Even so, Sandy's rendition of Learning the Game stands up to any version of this great song and Linda Peters shows her credentials as a rocker with belting versions of The Locomotion and La Bamba. If you're a Fairport/Denny/Thompson fan buy this. If you have fond memories of the songs/tunes, buy this.

Taken me 20 years to find this album
Been looking for it to complete the Sandy Denny collection - love the simple rock and roll approach from great musicians and singers. The album is really a delight

Unusual but interesting LP with a lot of talents from the old days
A group, mainly of folk rockers, get together to perform some "standards" from a gentler age of rock and roll. I had it first time around and it's an unashamed nostalgia trip.
