Smashing Pumpkins: "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness"

Fantastic book of a fanstastic album
The Smashing Pumpkins are one of those bands that come along once in a while and make music that makes your ears prick up to the point that you resemble Mr Spock, and this album is full of that music.Plus of course Billy Corgan is a guitar genius, who makes it all look so easy. So, after falling in love with the songs and the music I decided I wanted to learn to play them, and bought this book. It's a great book, well written and easy to follow, but not really for beginner's like me. Billy uses a lot of tunings that I'm not that familiar with as a novice. However, even if you are a fairly inexperienced guitarist like me you can still get a lot from this book and I would recommend it highly to both experienced and inexperienced alike, and especially to SP fans. There are a handful of songs that are basic enough to be strummed on an acoustic in normal tuning, and which provide for hours of satisfaction.Hopefully one day I'll be a good enough guitarist to do this book [and the songs it contains] the justice it deserves. If you're better than me, and even if you're not, buy this book. You won't regret it, and you'll love hearing yourself recreating some of those classic Pumpkins songs.

Probably a little to geek-tech for me
Quick delivery. Lots of great contents but perhaps too hard core guitar geek for me n my stumpy fingers (hence no 5 stars) but still stripped some vital riffs from it. I'll maybe pass it onto a better guitarist...
