Great quality polisher at a great price
I am a professional car painter with over 20 years experience working on high class cars so judge my review on that information. This is probably the best buffer/polisher I have used to date having used sealey, rupes, milwaukee and CP to name a few.It is a few hundred grams heavier than say the milwaukee or CP but in use you don't really notice. It is probably heavier as it uses metal instead of cheap composite parts at least according to other reviews I have seen.It feels like a quality product that will hopefully last a long time given the reviews of previous models. It also feels well balanced and comfortable to use.The speed can be set via a rotating thumb wheel switch on the top and changed whilst using it. It can also be controlled by varying the switch you use to start it up, upto the speed set on the thumb wheel. There is a little bit of a kick from the motor as you initially start it but nothing to worry about. It also has vents that are filtered on it that stops dirt and polishing debrit entering the housing. This is a good idea that should help to keep the insides clean and increase the longevity of the product. This is a first I have seen on any buffers I have used previously. The polisher also has a rubber cover on the head of it which is another good feature as you usually place it on the floor head first which over time usually ends up scratching the casing paint or the metal. The electrical lead is quite long and thick which is good if you are polishing a roof as it allows you to reach it and also less likely to damage the cord.Overall I would highly recommend this product for professional use and amateur use. If you do buy one you will not be disappointed. The price is also a bargain for such a high quality product.

Quality product
Detailed my parents old MK4 golf and chose this polisher. Purely on the basis it had a speed controller which helped on intricate curves where a slower speed was needed so as not to burn the paint. excellent!!

Excellent choice even for non-pros.
I'm no professional, but this polisher has been great as I renovated the paint on 4 cars. The main thing I like is that the trigger is very variable; this is so useful well spreading out the polish slowly before ramping it up to avoid splatter. There is a separate max. speed controller too which is in RPM units (600-3000rpm) rather than arbitrary numbers. You get a choice of handles; a bar and a hoop (I prefer the hoop as it's more versatile). A wool buffer and backing plate is included, but I'm not very keen on wool so haven't used it much. My only complaints are 1) it doesn't come with a case and 2) it's quite loud - like a mains electric drill at full speed. Apparently amateurs are better to start with Random Orbit polishers, whereas this is just rotary. However I found the rotary easier and more predictable, just don't stay on the same spot for too long and use a high quality polish.

You can't go wrong with Dewalt
I did my research on this product but also searched "best car polisher" and this came top in the majority of tests. You know the quality is going to be there because of the brand. It has electronic speed control which means you set the spin speed of the pad. It also boasts inteligent trigger & two handle options which offers optimum control. The results are awesome but you will need get used to the tool. Spend some time on some panels that you're not that worried about (maybe the misses car ๐). It's wired so will need an extension lead but as long as you put the extention in a sensible place and put the lead over your shoulder you won't notice it. It came with a wool pad which I've never used. I use Meguiars polishing pads which compliment this polisher perfectly. All in all a happy purchase which I would recommend.
