Great BJJ training concept
If you find when you roll with the same guys you both play to your strengths, having a secret objective position and having to stick to it can really develop your game, with a evenly matched opponent sometimes just getting to the position on your card is difficult enough. Obviously you can adapt the "rules" to suit, I found playing no handicaps and one card each, just playing til you reach the position was a great way to develop and explore my game, playing this way means you have to really be careful of what you allow your opponent to do, you could, for example, be hunting a crucifix and they may only need half guard, so you become very mindful of what positions you might accept, as that could end the round.Great for developing your competition game as you will be training yourself to obtain your position while trying to avoid any of theirs. My training partner and I didn't keep score either, just played through the deck and laughed when we realized the other achieved their mission. We made an agreement to play every Friday now, as we both appreciate how much this changed our game. The cards themselves are plastic coated and seem very durable, I have fitdeck cards too and would say these seem as though they would be more durable.
