Red Heart Team Spirit Yarn, Red/Blue

I bought this yarn to make scarves for a local school team. The colors are bright and and just what I needed. I must add that the yarn itself didn't have a great feel as I worked it. It is rather rough and a bit thin for worsted weight. If I had handled it in a store, I don't think I would have bought it. (I like my scarves soft.) That being said it is a way to turn out some quick team fan scarves or hats quickly without switching yarn colors. Handwork's will want to know that the yarn has a fairly long color repeat, but is not self striping. Hope this helps you. Go Team!

This yarn is very scratchy to wear and has a terrible "hand" to work with. The stripe pattern was well placed on the two sweaters I made for twin boys. I have been knitting for a long time and I know a trick with acrylic yarn that is not soft. I soaked the sweaters in a mix of hair conditioner and then rinsed and rinsed to get the product and the fragrance out and wrung them out and sent them through the dryer on air dry. It softened them up and I did gift the sweaters. The mom loved them. My recommendation... why bother.... chose another yarn.

I love red heart yarn, never experienced this before..although the wrapper appeared to be a new skein of yarn when the yarn arrived, both ends were stuff in one side. Lots of knots, one tangled mess. Extremely disappointed.. Could not use for intended project,half of the yarn was not useable. Learned my lesson, buy my yarn in the store, so I can see what I'm buying.

I do not like this yarn at all! I've used Red Heart before and it's never really been a favorite but depending on the project, I will purchase it because of the price, but this was just terrible. It keeps fraying and splitting, very hard to work with. I have a favorite brand that I usually use but they were out of the red/gray team spirit and I really needed these colors for a gift I was making, now I know why my favorite brand is my favorite.

This one skein was just enough for a scarf. Although the colors were good, the yarn was a bit scratchy and separated easily while crocheting. I had to look down often since I couldn't trust the yarn to hold together enough to avoid putting my hook through it instead of around it.I won't be buying the higher priced Team Colors again.It's better to use a higher quality yarn and change colors as needed.

I like the yarn for it's vivid color. It has a little "give", so it's easy to knit with this yarn. However, yes there's a however! The red has bled onto the white. It came that way which was quite disappointing. It is not bleeding as I knit. I can only wonder what will happen when it is washed. Because it is acrylic, it is not super soft. I am knitting a collegiate scarf for my soon-to-be daughter-in-law. Not sure I'm going to give it to her because I wanted it to be perfect. I hope when the scarf is wrapped around her neck, or my neck, it won't show as much.

I found this yarn just fine as to texture and consistency. I especially liked the fact that the beginning strand came out of the center of the skein, making it comfortable to work with. So many skeins of other manufacturers no longer do this and you encounter many tangles, etc. throughout your project. I will be ordering and buying this company's yarn more in the future!

This yarn is a huge disappointment! The colors I ordered are red and gold, Washington Redskin colors. The gold yarn has the red bleeding on it, so there is also pinkish gold yarn in a lot of places. The price was outrageous at almost ten,dollars for five ounces. I would not recommend this yarn to anyone.

Perfect for what I needed it for.

The yarn arrived super fast but it seems to have glue on it that I can’t get off. I don’t think it’s worth the hassle of returning it for the price and time it would take to ship it back and reorder it unfortunately. Otherwise it looks great.. colours are true to pic shown online.
