Acctim 74457 Wall Clock, Aluminium
I received this clock from CAPITAL STORES, via Amazon. I was initially concerned as a warning appeared on the Amazon WEB site shortly after placing my order to say this clock could not be purchased due to a problem with item description. Fortunately I found upon opening the package, the item was exactly as described. The clock takes 1 x AA standard type battery, which is not clear within the item description and this is NOT provided with the package. Once the battery has been purchased and inserted, the clock literally takes over. Upon receiving an appropriate signal from the transmitter, the hour and minutes hands revolve until they are set to 12:00. A few minutes later when the correct time signal has been received, again the hours, minutes and seconds hands start to revolve until the correct time is reached. Quite impressive! In fact hilarious, as I was fully expecting the hands to just keep revolving, but no - bang on the button! The clock has a clear face that can easily be read and the lens is made of glass (very important to me). I have found in the past, plastic lenses tend to discolour slightly and scratch from cleaning. The outercase is Aluminium and the combination looks very handsome. The clock mechanism looks quite substantial, but as I have only had the clock a few days, durability has yet to be assessed. However, so far the unit is quite impressive, keeps perfect time and hangs in my kitchen rather well. What more is there to tell.REVIEW UPDATE (28-Mar-2015)Looking good so far...I have had this clock now for about 18 months. It is still working perfectly on the same AA battery and keeps absolute perfect time. The hour also changes in line with BST & GMT on the appropriate date.It still looks handsome and I love it! A great purchase - me thinks.REVIEW UPDATE (24-Nov-2015)I thought I would return to advise, after 2 years of continuous use the AA Duracell battery originally installed upon delivery has finally failed, stopping the clock!Concerned at some of the other comments regarding the Acctim 74457 not operating correctly when fitted with a new battery, I dutifully installed a brand new AA Duracell. I then depressed the red reset button and waited. Immediately the hands began to rotate, only stopping when all 3 of them finally reached 12. After a few minutes the hands once again began to rotate, stopping on the correct time. It worked!I have left posting this update for several days in case issues arose from the installation of the new Duracell battery but no, everything is fine. My clock is up and running, like it has done for the past 2 years. Hopefully it will continue for sometime to come, well at least for another 2 years. Only time will tell (excuse the pun) :0)

Perfect
As I don't take my mobile upstairs, I need a clock that I can view at night, but doesn't require me to set the time on it. It sorts itself out, accurately setting the time, and looks good on my bedroom wall. It's large enough for me to view the time, even in the middle of the night, and when I'm in a drowsy state! It takes just one AA battery, which is economical. I'm very happy with it.

Perfect, with a little careful modification.
This is a very smart range of clocks with very good signal reception. The only drawback is the silver hands make them hard to read in under certain lighting conditions (they look black in the photo but they are really silver). It is very easy though to carefully remove the clock front and colour in the hands with an oil based pigment marker pen, I used a Uni Super Ink permanent marker pen, and it is now a beautiful clock with solid black hands - a big improvement to reading the dial in any light. If only the Mason range came with solid black hands and not silver it would have definitely deserved a 5 star rating.

Broken. Does not keep time. Is not radio controlled.
I am so disappointed with this clock. It is beautiful, and would be perfect if it worked. But it doesn't. I have tried replacing the battery and resetting etc etc three times. Each time all is well for the first few hours - the clock behaves just as it should and makes contact with the radio controller and keeps perfect time. But, each time, it stops working properly for no apparent reason. The second hand stops going round at all and, although the hour and minute hand still move, it does not keep accurate time. Unfortunately this behaviour only manifested after the return window designated by Amazon so I appear to be stuck, like the second hand.

Only time will tell
This clock is more expensive than the many similar-looking generic Chinese chronometers that are available in the £10-20 range, but the familiar European brand name inspires some confidence in terms of the quality of manufacture and, one hopes, the working conditions of staff; while the radio control feature inspired confidence in the accuracy of timekeeping.(Had I bought a cheaper clock that failed and then bought a replacement, I would have spent more than I would if I had simply bought this ab initio).Set-up was easy, and it took the clock just a few minutes to find a signal and set itself to the correct time -- *do* read the instruction leaflet in order to understand what the clock is doing -- but before popping in a battery to initiate the set-up process, I popped out the six retaining clips behind the bezel and lifted the mechanism away from the bevel and glass in order to initiate the legibility hack. The clips are easy to remove.I used a black marker pen to colour the hour and minute hands. Because the hands are very delicate, I took the precaution of supporting each with a screwdriver handle to prevent bending as I applied colour (almost anything will do by way of support -- e.g. a peg, a piece of cheese, a biro -- which is a useful precaution for the cack-handed).Popping the clips back in place and pushing a battery into the slot takes just a few seconds. At this price point, not providing a battery seems a bit stingy, but my main gripe is that Acctim doesn't provide a version of this model with black hands (and a red sweep-hand) so customers can choose between a low-contrast model with silver hands on a white face, and a more legible, high-contrast model, with black hands on a white face that is much easier to see.So far so good. How will it fare?Only time will tell ...

Trabalha bem
Pena ter sofrido acidentes que lhe amputaram alguns bocados mas que na realidade não fazem falta nem são visíveis.

Zeigt britische Zeit ( minus 1 Stunde)
