Intel 4770k for new PC Build
I recently ordered this CPU for my new rig I was building and always seem to get great things from Amazon and Intel. Intel never ceases to amaze me with they're great performing CPU's. I upgraded from an AMD 8350 which was a very very beast CPU but had to try the forbidden fruit of Intel's Haswell line of CPU's. It overclocked to a stable 4.5 with no issues what so ever, I gained about 25FPS-30FPS in all games for the most part and my computer just runs smooth with 0 issues. That's the key here is I have not had a single hiccup or crash yet! Pros: - Runs Cooler than my previous CPU. I was around 40c idle and 60c under full load with the 8350 even with my Liquid setup. The Intel runs 28c idle and 51c-52c under full load, so not a huge difference but honestly cooler is better. - I gained alot of FPS and over all Smoothness with upgrading to this CPU, now I didn't have the best motherboard money could buy with my AMD but it wasn't the lowest. With the Intel I made sure I spent a good amount on the Mobo and its made a huge difference from what I could tell. - I almost doubled my Benchmark scores from the previous AMD CPU which blew my mind, I was worried that upgrading to this and spending $280 on a new CPU and $200 on my Mobo that the performance difference would not be worth it. Well I was wrong cause its night and Day, no offense to AMD cause I still love the hell out of AMD. They are still great if you don't have the money to dish out on an Intel setup. Cons: - These CPU's are expensive and if you want the best performance then you will want to buy a top of the line Motherboard to go along with it. Once you go Intel you never go back
Long time AMD fan. Last Intel CPU was Pentium 133Mhz. My last rig bit the dust and i decided to get something that didnt feel "good enough" but that felt like it could do anything, for the next few years. Running Windows 8 on my AMD rig was a chore, in its defense the A75M isnt Win8 certified/approved. My last platform was: A8-3850 Asrock A75M 8GB Mushkin DDR3 12800 1600Mhz AMD 6570 HD Mushkin 120GB SSD Rosewil Redbone atx case some 500/550 watt psu BD burner New rig (ne items not mentioned are carried from above): i7-4770k Corsair H80i closed loop liquid cooling Asrock Z87 Extreme 4 16GB Kingston hyperX Beast (2x8GB) 2133Mhz RAM MSI GeForce GTX 660 ti 3GB GDDR5 This processor consistently shows about 2x the performance of AMD leading CPU/APU, of course at 2x the cost. ITS WORTH IT. Single thread apps are way faster, and this processor can out-perform an 8 core AMD CPU in multi-threaded apps. Overclocking: I was able to easily get this to 4.4Ghz stable. Some people get upto 4.7/4.8 even 5.0. I guess i got an averagish CPU. Very much luck of the drawl. Could also be MB limitations. Tried 4.6 and couldnt get it to boot. Still 25% overclock isnt bad. With corsair h80i temps at full load barely touch 70 celcius but typically temps are in the 30's-40's. Gaming it touches 50's. Highly recommend. AMD is great if your an average computer user, internet, email, office. If you do any gaming, media encoding, or adobe/advanced productivity there is not an AMD cpu at this time that comes close. Ill follow up after about 6 months, i fully expect to be even happier with it by then.

Switched from FX-8350 to 4770k
I recently had some extra money to throw around and decided to try Intel from my top end AMD rig, 8350, 16GB Corsair Dominator RAM, GTX 780, 750watt Corsair Modular psu. I am an active forum member on Tomshardware.com and have for over a year watched the debates (and arguments) between AMD and Intel fans regarding cpus. Sick of all the talk I wanted to finally test it for myself, I decided to go for the i7 because I was interested in the comaprison between the 4770k and the 8350, considering the 8350 is much cheaper and older. I went all out on the motherboard as well because I planned on overclocking the 4770k, which I successfully have easily on the Asus Z87 Formula board (amazing board). I got a great chip, 4.4ghz at only 1.2v. Anyways though, how did the 8350 do against the 4770k? Amazing actually the only realworld difference I've noticed was that the few games I do play seemed smoother for sure. I ran some benchmarks and the i7 is significantly more powerful in most synthetic tests like Cinebench, 3dmark. It also does have much higher minimum fps in many games I play after I ran FRAPS, which was obviously why it seemed much smoother than my 8350. Overall, not really worth the money spent but I am happy I now have the extra power and smoother gameplay.

Best CPU out there today!
Sure it's only 10-15% faster than Ivy Bridge, but so was the upgrade from Sandy Bridge to Ivy Bridge! Some may say it's overpriced and AMD is cheaper and a better use of money. Remember, you get what you pay for ;) I upgraded from a AMD 1100T, a six core CPU based on the Phenom II architecture which is equal to the newer AMD offering, piledriver, in everything but core count. Boy, the difference is night and day. Single threaded applications are nearly twice as fast, and multithreaded performance is about 35% faster, even with 2 less physical cores. But, AMD has more cores! and a higher clock speed! That doesn't mean a thing in this time and world. Best way i can explain it, but keep in mind, I'm no car expert: Intel being a 4 bigger sized cylinder engine, running at a slightly lower RPM, giving out a huge amount of torque. AMD being a 8 smaller sized cylinder engine, running at a higher RPM, giving out an equal amount of torque as the intel. Ah, and the integrated graphics, the HD 4600 doesn't **** around! It can play Battlefield 3 at 40-50FPS at 720p on low/medium settings and max out games at their intended resolution (1200p for me) like Modern Warfare 2 or games utilizing the source engine, like Half Life 2 or Garry's Mod, and Portal 2 too.

Great processor but the fan...
This i7-4770k was the core of my first computer build - so I was ignorant what to expect. I did an external build first to test the motherboard, RAM and processor - everything worked fine but the Intel processor fan above the processor (that came from Intel with the chip). it would not spin without a "push start" and was noisy when it did spin. So I did some reading on Intel processor fans and some reviewers said they were junk - and based on my limited experience I had to agree. I decided to purchase an after market Master Cooler processor fan to replace the stock Intel fan. As I removed the stock Intel processor fan from the motherboard was where I learned my processor fan lesson - look closely at the fan wires. Intel had clipped the wire for the fan's power so tightly to the perimeter of the fan's plastic exterior that it impeded the fan's ability to spin and caused the noise. Intel gives sufficient fan wire length so there was no need for it to be so tight around the fan's perimeter and as soon as I made the wires longer and away from the fan it started quickly and quietly. But I had already taken the time and spent $35 on the Master Cooler fan, so I installed it anyway rather than taking more time to return it. The Master Cooler processor fan (212 Evo) was much bigger than the stock fan but still incredibly quiet.

I Love It But It Runs Hot
I think I just got an unlucky one, but my CPU runs at 100C under prime95 at stock. I use a 2013 version of the H60 cooler. I've tried several things with the cooler and the fans on my case, but to no avail. Evidently lots of other people are having temperature issues with this line of CPUs just like the last generation. The best fix is to delid the CPU and reapply the internal thermal paste, but I don't feel confident enough to do that right now. Some people are lucky and receive a CPU that runs pretty cool though according to reviews I've read. Outside of prime95, my CPU doesn't go over 60C during my normal work loads (being games like BF3 and Blender). It idles at 30C-35C which is perfectly acceptable. Basically, I just won't be doing any overclocking on this one. Even at stock, this CPU shreds the work I give to it so I really don't see a need to overclock at the present time. Windows 8 gives the CPU an 8.1 rating which I think is decent although WEI is not a good rating to compare CPUs by if you're looking for more depth in the review.

Fast CPU for Everything You Can Throw at It.
Upgraded from a E8400, and man does this thing make a world of difference. Compiling videos (Sony Vegas 12) went from a couple hours, down to just 30 minutes at the most. Games received at least a 3x FPS boost. Everything in my OS loads so much faster. The only con, and I should have looked into this, is the temperature. My E8400 at max would hit 50C, these Haswell's apparently love to run in 70s-90s (C) under load. I have recently invested in a Corsair H110 since I generally use aftermarket coolers, so we will see how much that will help. I live in an area that reaches over 100F easily during the summer, and I like to keep my PC running cool. Intel's heatsinks also are not on my good list. I have always hated their push-pin design for the mounting, because it is a huge hassle to get them to mount correctly. Because of this, they may not always apply the proper pressure needed to absorb heat. Other than the load temps, no problems. Definitely the CPU to buy.

Excelente CPU, ideal para Overclocking
Gran rendimiento y, a diferencia de otros comentarios en uso normal la temperatura del CPU con overclock a 4.5GHz es de 34º (Disipador TH Macho rev.a en una carcaza Antec P280). Cuando lo pongo en tests de rendimiento no pasa de 70º, y eso pocas veces. Tendría que elevar el reloj a 4,8 GHz para ponerle en un aprieto, cosa que no haré porque me vale perfectamente con esta velocidad. Lo tengo con el SO Mavericks, y tengo mi antigua máquina de windows en un entorno virtual con VmWare. Memoria del sistema 16GB de RAM( Corsair de bajo perfil a 1.833Mhz), tarjeta: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UDH5.

Super powerful and fast processing. Works like a dream. Definitely worth the price. Clocks in at 3.5 ghz. 4.5 Ghz with my GTX 780 lightening the load in the graphics department. Arrived in 2 days!

Histoire de ne pas répéter ce qui à déjà été dit, voici la consommation d'un PC composé de ce core i7 4770K sur carte mère Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H. 2 disques SSD en RAID 0 qui ne consomment quasiment rien. Pas de carte graphique séparée. (mesurée avec une prise wattmètre Leroy Merlin) -> idle (repos) : 55 Watts -> / navigation Internet: le pc consomme 60 à 75 W avec quelques brefs pics à 105/120 et de très très rares à 150. -> En charge @ 3,9 GHz (Turbo Boost): ca peut monter par moment à 249. -> OC @ 4,4 GHz : 350 Watts en stress avec l'outil Intel "Extreme Tuning Utility" - 69 watts en idle Pour les températures: voir mon commentaire sur le ventirad be quiet! Dark Rock PRO 2: be quiet! Dark Rock PRO 2 Ventirad double tour 7 caloducs 2 ventilateurs SilentWings 135mm/120mm C'est donc une machine dépourvue de carte graphique énergivore qui me permet de faire tourner - dans un silence absolu - une dizaine de machines virtuelles simultanément sans sourciller et à la fois un pc économe pour la navigation Internet et les taches courantes. Le tout en 1920x1200 extrêmement fluide avec l'aéro de Windows 7. J'espère ne pas changer avant une dizaine d'années. Je n'ai pas testé les jeux mais cela semble possible. cf. Google. --------------------------- Avec notamment: ------------------------------ - 32 Go de RAM 1600 - une carte mère qui exploite la puce graphique embarquée dans ce processeur - deux disques SSD HyperX en RAID 0. - une alim absolument inaudible: Bequiet! Je pense que c'est surtout bon pour les benchs, les gamers, les victimes du marketing en quête de pouillèmes de mieux OU ceux qui ont besoin du plus performant pour être heureux. (du pain bénit pour les fabricants et l'industrie qui pillent la planète...) :-) Et la conso s'envole de 100 watts supplémentaires..... Voire un total en charge de 500 à 700 ou plus encore avec les cartes graphiques idoines qui vont généralement avec. (au passage, préférez la mise en veille prolongée ou l’arrêt complet du pc qui sont les deux seuls modes dans lesquels le pc ne consomme pas une fois éteint. La veille simple consomme quelques watts en permanence, même quand le pc vous parait éteint)

これから現役で使えそうです。
i5-4570SのLenovo ThinkCentreE73 スリムPCに乗せ換えました。 (電源は既に特殊ケーブルを介して300Wに交換してあります。) 際限の無いPCのバージョンアップを自制するため、昔からメーカー製のPCを買うことにしていますが、 やはりバージョンアップしたい病にかかってしまいました。 効果ですが、なんとなくWindwsの応答速度・反応が良くなった気がします。また、 FF14イシュガルドベンチではディスク(SSD)アクセスが25secから20secに減少しました。 どうせなら最上位のi7-4790Kに交換したいところですが、発熱の問題と、 割高すぎるのでこちらにしました。Sofmapの星5つコンディションの中古を買いましたが、 殻割りされているでもなく新品同様でした。i7-4790Kの約90%の性能、最新の第7世代 i7-7700Kから比べても約75%程度の性能があるのでまだまだ余裕で使えますし、程度が良く 安い中古なら買いと思います。 せっかくKシリーズのため、ついでにオーバークロックできるかと思っていましたが、 1150ソケットで Z87 or Z97チップセットを積んだマザーでないと基本的にオーバークロック できないことを知り、またこれらチップセットのマザーは極一部を除いて市場から消えており 残っている製品は割高なようです。今後PCをバージョンアップする時には全て買い直しですね。

Non ho parole per descrivere questo processore, con il moltiplicatore sbloccato ed un buon dissipatore (aria o liquido) ad esempio corsair o noctua, si può arrivare a portare il clock ad oltre 4,5 GHz senza che si rischi un danno ai circuiti interni. Resistente al calore di oltre 100 gradi, lo sto facendo lavorare 24 ore su 24 a 4GHz utilizzando un dissipatore Noctua ad aria NH12Us, ed nonostante tutto rimane inchiodato a 53 gradi centigradi. La potenza di calcolo è eccelsa, non fatica minimamente a lavorare sia in editing video che in movimenti poligonali pesanti di cad. Abbinato ad una serie di schede video renderà il vostro PC, una macchina inarrivabile in ogni situazione di calcolo pesante. Riesce a spingere fino a 32 GB di memoria ram sempre che la scheda madre le supporti, ben 4 core indipendenti ed una scheda video HD intel 4600 integrata, istruzioni a 64bit, estensioni SSE 4.1, AVX2.0, DMI2 da 5 TeraGiga /secondo, tecnologia da 22nm e un consumo ridottissimo di 84 watt massimi!!!!! Si monta su socket intel 1150. La corsa al miglior processore, è una gara che non avrà mai fine, ma questo processore appartiene al top dei livelli di produzione attualmente in commercio. Lo consiglio vivamente per chi gioca con il PC, per chi usa il PC con editing video, in quanto offre tempi ridottissimi di attesa per un rendering video. Appena 5 minuti per un filmato di 30 minuti in full HD!!!!!! Servizio amazon impeccabile, spedizione in meno di 24 ore, 5 stelle meritatissime, prodotto assolutamente valido per chi vuole il top di gamma!!!!!!
