Yet another cheap Chinese watch, nothing more
Most of the reviews for Hawk watches are from the people who have been given the watch free of charge just to review. My review is different because I've paid for this watch so I am reviewing it from a paying buyer's perspective. I've purchased this watch simply because of a promotion as buy one get one free. Otherwise I wouldn't buy it for full price for £24. After promotion each watch became £12. It is a cheap Chinese watch. It looks like it and it feels like it. First of all, its strap is not leather even though it is written as "genuine leather" at the back side of strap and in watch specs here in amazon. It is just synthetic leather-like looking material which smells clearly plastic and feels like plastic. Watch body is made of brass to give some weight which is not a bad thing on its own because many other designer brands do the same but the problem with this watch is that it is painted with chrome colour to give stainless steel look, while other designer brands have the body plated with chrome so it is not paint at all. The chrome paint will wear-off after a few months of usage and body will turn yellow-ish green while chrome plating by electrolysis will last many years without wearing off. It is clearly visible on body paint that there are several imperfections in painting. Only back cover is stainless steel. Chronograph and calendar work fine but minute dial in chronograph is so small in this watch that it is not possible to read so it becomes a bit useless. It should have been in the same size as chrono-seconds dial. Hands don't illuminate in this model by design so it is acceptable. There are several cheap Chinese brands using the exact same mechanism and they are sold in Ebay with different brand names such as Skmei, Megir, etc. with price tags between £7 and £13 so purchasing this Howk watch for £12 was not bad or different for me. But I wouldn't pay full price of £24 for one Howk watch on its own. The other Chinese watches are shipped from Hong Kong and arrive perhaps within a month while this Howk watch is shipped from UK and arrive within 2 days so it becomes a better deal especially if you change your mind and want to return it back. This watch comes with excellent amazon free return warranty so this is a distinct advantage. In summary it is not a bad deal to buy this watch for £12 with promotion (buy one get one free for £24) but also consider, one could have purchased a branded watch like Sekonda, Lorus, even Pulsar by simply paying a bit more than £24 (not two watches of course, only one). The Howk watches are not different than other cheap Chinese watches, namely no worth to replace battery when it gone flat. Just bin it and buy a new watch instead which probably becomes cheaper than replacing the dead battery. If you're looking for a reliable long lasting watch, this watch is not one to go for. If you want to have many watches in your collection for reasonable / ignorable price this watch may be considerable as a suitable candidate but there are many similar brands in this category anyways. One last thing, its width is 39mm which makes it sort of unisex watch, not very masculine for men's only.

A lovely looking and well designed watch which I bought via a promotional offer which amounted to buy one watch, get one free. Easy to set up and has kept almost perfect time since I have had it. I can thoroughly recommend HOWK watches as a perfect value for money watch

Better than I expected
I actually paid for my watch although it was on offer at the time.Its okay for a £20 watch. Keeps the time pretty well and had no issues with setting the time.I have a much too large (according to my wife) collection of £100 - £400 watches and every now and then buy one on "offer" in the vain hope its actually a bargain (Yes I am looking at you Invicta) & this has slowly crept in to my rotation of work watches.If you're a watch-a-holic on a budget I would say its worth a look. If your on a budget and want a watch that looks pretty good AND keeps the time, I think you could do a lot worse than this.
