Read Write Inc.: My Reading and Writing Kit: More sounds and blending

Great set. Bought this for my 4 year old now that she has learned all the set one sounds and can blend 2 and 3 sounds words together. This is a great next step as it comes with blending books and story books too. Lots to keep us busy as I prepare her for starting Reception in September.

First - this is a great resource. It's helped my little boy learn how to read and I'd recommend to anyone who has a 4-5 year old in reception doing RWI. Unfortunately I bought "my reading and writing kit 2" several months ago and this - despite having a different title and different age range on the cover - is completely identical. Nothing in the listing to make that clear and the only video is from the next kit which I need to swap this for.

I've been using this a few weeks now with my five year old. She loves it, the lessons are bite sized and manageable for her attention span. She loves that after completion of each section she gets to put a well done sticker on the progress chart that is included in the pack. This really motivates her to do the lessons and I think encourages a natural love of learning. I'm really happy with the book layouts and content. The illustrations are fun, and there are lots of books to go through. A really great kit for any parent wanting to support early readers learning at home. I have found it has helped progress and instill more confidence in reading from using it with my child

Really good product. Plenty in it so not the same thing that is being repeated. My 7 year old grand daughter loves it. It is well packaged, and easy to carry / store, and is a very reasonable price.

Works well alongside school learning

I purchased these for over the summer to do with my daughter. Absolutely love them! My daughter recognises the books and methods. We are familiar with Read Write Inc structure, but even for someone who isn't familiar, they are super easy to follow along, prompts all the way through, even a parent handbook. Even places where children can mark off their progress with a great sticker reward chart.

I bought it to support my 5 year old in the Summer Holiday. I bought first pack 1 and then this one. Great way to practise phonics, reading and writing at home.
