A lovely book
I purchased this recently after a few other books. I learnt a lot from other soap making books on cold process, melt and pour and hot process and tried a few different recipes. I was now ready for effects and so I bought this book. It is a very good all round instruction book on how to make your own soap and has beautiful step by step photographic guides for things like swirling, layering, curls etc. It looks good and is spiral bound which makes it better for following the steps as you make the soap. If you are someone who wants to make soap their craft I'd say this is right up your street. Even if you just want to make the odd bar of soap it is a lovely addition to your bookshelves to encourage even the most reluctant and non artistic person to try and succeed. Makes it seem simple and these results are really very achievable, but if you want more indepth details about the science and practicalities of soap making then get another book for that first.

excellent book for artistic soaps
this is a really excellent book for the soap maker looking to get creative and experimental. the book contains all the info you might need to get started in making artistic soaps. this book is more about the artistic part of soap - hence the name 'soap crafting' - so is good to move onto once have the basic bar mastered. i have learnt loads from this book and Anne- Marie and am truly grateful that I bought this book. the spiral bind works great. highly recommended

A very good book about soapmaking
A very good book about soapmaking. It offers everything you need to know, a guide to many ingriedients from oils to colorants to edibles, not to mention many tecqniques. It has also great pictures which i am very happy to look at, as i am a very visual person, it helps a lot to understand better especially when talking about some chemical prodecures. I recommend it to everyone from beginners to those who just want to know more.

A GREAT INVESTMENT ALL AROUND for beginners and more advanced soap makers.
I bought this book after watching all her videos and 2000 other ones on the internet... all in all however it's a lovely book reference to all the soap swirls and other important items for soap making. I bought the spiral version and it's great, if you plan to use it while you make the recipe... the pictures are great... easy step by step pictorials are the best! The frequently asked questions in the back are also excellent... easy to read and understand... A GREAT INVESTMENT ALL AROUND for beginners and more advanced soap makers.

Highly recommended - this is my 3rd copy!!!
I love this book. I owned it x2 in Canada (dog ate my first copy). Now in the UK, I have replaced it yet again as the inspiration to make soap is never far away! The coil binding is a blessing when you're in the middle of a messy project. I love the colored photos and often interchange her color ideas with whatever micas/clays I have on hand, not necessarily matching the recipe to the coloring technique. I love the variation in recipes using a mixture of oils, or just one or 2! I have too many favs from this book to share here. Buy it and decide what your favs are!!!

I love this book!! I love the spiral binding and the 'heaviness' of the pages. Doesn't feel like it will fall apart if your hands are a bit messy. Recipes are great and pictures are vibrant, I'm always checking this book for tips!
