The Ultimate Guide to Your Microscope

Good book with plenty of interesting projects for young kids. Covers all the basic slide prep techniques in good detail and has many practical experiments. I like this book as the pictures shown throughout are real images from an optical microscope and therefore closely resemble the images likely to be acquired on my child's microscope. Rather than setting a higher expectation from books that mainly present imagines from electron microscopes.

VERY poor choice of title.It is not a guide to any microscope, except in the most basic of ways. This is a guide as to interesting projects, investigations, experiments etc. that make for interesting use of a microscope - at which it excels - but it is NOT a guide to any microscope.

This is an excellent book for anyone, old or young, who has acquired access to a microscope for the first time, and wants to explore the magic world which is mostly out-of-sight. It takes you through step-by-step, and makes the process fun!

With many years of experience as a teacher and doing microscopy as a hobby I can unreservedly recommend this book. Brings back the joy and excitement of learning and discovery so lacking in some schools today.
