Disappointing main feature and poor match selection
I bought this set primarily for the main feature, which I found to be rushed and lazily produced. The feature lasts for around 70 minutes, and counts down 30 of the greatest moments in Survivor Series history (up until 2016, the 30th year). The content chosen is acceptable and representative of many of the best moments - although the excellent Team Austin vs. Team Bischoff match in 2003 is a noteable omission - and it runs through The Undertaker's debut, Goldberg's return, The Shield's debut, the Montreal Screwjob, the culmination of the Invasion storyline, and more. Each clip has about two minutes devoted to it, but the lack of a narrator or any talking heads makes it feel really cheap and somewhat dull to sit through. There's not even a graphic telling you which year you're watching, or why the moment is significant, so you're left to figure it out by yourself. I've come to expect better from WWE's Home Video department, so this seems way below their usual standard. Even the WWE.com 'Top 10' videos have more care and effort put into them. The extras - two discs worth of matches - will only be worth owning if you don't already have many of the Survivor Series PPVs in your collection. The choices are fairly predictable, and the bulk of the matches have already been released on past WWE DVD compilation sets. There aren't any matches at all from the 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 or 2008 events, which is a great shame. The fact that we then get LayCool vs. Natalya (2010) and Beth Phoenix vs. Eve Torres (2011) adds insult to injury.Overall, I'd say this is targeted more at the casual WWE fan, and not the DVD collector. Personally, I'd give the overall package a 5/10, but that score may go up or down, depending on how many of the matches you already own on other sets.
