Excellent, just what I wanted

Useful for the basics. I give it to inexperienced crew to educate them and use it for revision.

I’m new to sailing and after looking at and reading 2 other similar books, I find this to be the best one for me.Excellent - clearly explained and well illustrated content. Not too much detail for me but others disagree.Just the right physical book size.Entirely relevant content with level of detail for the RYA competent crew course.

Well sectioned but knots difficult to understand which part of rope goes under or over for example sketches are too small. Suggest get separate knot book or download videos to back up

This is an ideal book to back up the RYA course or just to give vital information to a beginner.

Great as an overview but you can get that from the RYA site. I struggle to see what you can get from this book that you could not get from a generals search of the internet. Save the money and put it towards the course and really learn to sail

Fabulous little book and highly recommended. Make sure you get some rope to practice your knots. Easy to skip over the bits you don't really need and concentrate on the ones you do. Recommended for budding first mates!

Excellent book. Much better than the similar books in the American Sailing Association and US Sailing textbooks. This is more focused on skills the crew needs to know rather than learning to sail. So if you want to get spots crewing on someone else’s boat, this is the book for you.
