A slim publication that has simplistic diagrams and descriptions. Too basic for a wing chun practitioner and too brief for the novice to be guided. I am unsure if the glowing reviews are down to the brilliance of this book (in which case you can ignore my opinion) or the offer of free future books if you give good reviews. My copy has been gifted to a charity shop.

For the absolute beginner as an introduction to Chi Sao
This book is for the very new Wing Chun martial artist. If you have more than 6 months Chi Sao experience this is not a book for you.I probably expected too much, having studied Wing Chun for over two years now, I knew all of the techniques in the book so has absolutely no benefit to me.For the absolute beginner as an introduction to Chi Sao it is ok. Would be a lot better with photos.

Very good book BUT ...
LIKED: Ease and clarity of information, very good diagrams and clear descriptions of drills, forms, etc.DISLIKED: Book misleadingly advertised as 66 pages. Only 1-50 actually relate to Wing Chun. Description "66 pages" includes several blank page separators, contents list, introduction, "about author" and pages where author flogs other books, courses, etc.

Good !
Good book about the basic drills of Wing Chung.Even if you are not training Wing Chung but an other martial art it may be useful to include some basic drills for the close quarter combat !!!!The book is easy written and esy to understand with drawings to explain. So I can just recommend it !Just two things:1, Some pictures would be fine2. Some links to videos to show th moves would be fine !

Difficult to Learn Chi Sao from a Book
I am a Wing Chun practitioner and this is not a very good book on the martial art. I did not see a lot of blaring errors, but the presentation and illustrations leave much to be desired. To be completely honest, Chi Sao is the one area of Wing Chun Kung Fu that you really cannot learn from a book. You need a qualified teacher and training partner. I commend the author for a good try, but in the end it comes up very short. Do not understand why the book received such good reviews.

Not clear at all
Chi SAO it's a complex technique. It requires clear imagery and clear explanation throughout the entire process. None of these concepts will be found in this book. All steps are explained using drawings that really lack clarity and the explanation lacks the format of the Wing Chun discipline. Perhaps the author could be skilled in the matter, but has to work more on passing his knowledge through his book. Grayscale images would have sufficed to convey clearly the steps of the Chi Sao exercises. Too bad he opted for not clear drawings instead.

It's pretty straightforward and doesn't waste any time with pointless advice
It's pretty straightforward and doesn't waste any time with pointless advice. There are a lot of pictures with step by step instructions. However, it is a pretty short book with large print and pictures, so made me feel like I was reading a kids short story book. That's the only reason I'm giving 4 stars. For the price, there might be more thorough books.

Too brief
Too brief, lack of real photo,Art of chi sao, is a kind of borrowing force, however, the method in this book depends on much hand force to finish the attackNot my ideal book

Chi Sao
I love this ebook because it brought back memories of doing chi sao with my sifu. It has been along time but I still remember how to do chi sao.

Good try but it falls short
If anything, why not real pictures. You learn Chi Sao by "feel" not cartoons. Good try but it falls short.
