helping save on the fuel bills .
I have to admit that I was wary of buying a pressure cooker as the last time I owned one you in the early 80's and you had to go through the petrifying process of putting a weight on top of a spout on the lid of a hissing pan, a task that was not for the faint hearted and I had to be convinced that modern pressure cookers were no longer petrifying. I'm glad that I listened to all the advice I was given as this pan is so very different from the old-style pressure cookers, no fiddling about with weight, so nothing scary at all! I am delighted with my purchase. To me this is a serious piece of kit with a substantial construction. Yes, it's expensive to buy but I hopeful that over a few years it will save me a good amount on my fuel bill and with the way things are going and the time I saved cooking the dried beans I think I might just be right, It's fair to say that I am still getting used to cooking using the pressure cooker as I only bought it very recently, but so far, I am very impressed and know that I will continue to be so. I initially found it a bit awkward to put on the lid of this pressure cooker, but I soon got used to where to site the lid before turning it into place. I bought this combination pack that has 2 different sized pans and one lid plus a trivet. The shallower pan is still a decent sized pan and I have used it to sauté onions before I added other ingredients and putting on the lid. I eat a vegetarian diet and cook a lot of pulses which I usually soak overnight before I cook them but yesterday forgot to put the beans to soak, I thought this would be an issue, but I used a method that I has seen in a book called 'Modern pressure cooking' where the beans are treated to a bit of a precook , before I cooked the beans for the dish I was making , and not only did it work a treat but was very efficient both for time and for energy used. My main reasons for buying the pressure cooker were to help cut down on fuel use as I cook with gas. This pressure can be used on both gas and electrical stovetop rings, and it can also be used on induction hobs (which is another reason for me choosing this pressure cooker as it means that I can always use it if I want at any time to take it with me to any of our family to cook a particular dish.) The advantage of having the two sizes of pressure cooker base pans is that I am able to cook easily for all my fairly large family if they visit together of for just a few of us, it makes my pressure-cooking adventure very flexible. I have found the pressure cooker and lid easy to clean, the silicone seal takes out and washes very easily, I found the cleaning of the valve a touch tricky at first but like with putting on the lid I soon got the hang of the task. My only real disappointment with this is that it did not come with a small recipe book, there are some timings to follow in the instruction booklet, but it would have been good to have a small proper book of recipes and tips included. I should add that this pressure cooker comes with a trivet, I use the trivet for cooking vegetables but for other things like dishes that need a fair amount of fluid like the dried beans, dahls, soups and casserole type dishes I don't use the trivet. I have yet to try cooking a steamed pudding or a cake in the pressure cooker but when I do, I will also use the trivet for these tasks also. I'm having great fun finding out just how versatile this pressure cooker is and hope that you who are reading this also enjoy your pressure-cooking journey also. I hope you have found this honest and rather chaotic review helpful .

Performing good so far
Just right for a small family, would not be enough while cooking for 4 or more. Performing good so far, overcooking food though occasionally and sometimes the valve won't work properly and food get's burnt. But it is a great ''fast food'' machine and a must have item for busy people who still want to enjoy a cooked meal from time to time.

Da dürfte nie was kaputtgehen.

Fabulous
Fabulous. Elegant to look at, too. I used to have an old-style Presto, also very good, but it lost quite a bit of liquid, so things sometimes burned even though I was very careful. But with these, there is very little water loss. I'm very impressed and happy with the upgrade. I use the 4-quart almost every day -- perfect for two people; the 6-quart is also quite handy. No cookbook with this package, though.
