Best 'No animal testing, horrible chemical hair dye i've tryed!'
I've been using Herbatint Black hair dye for a year now, and i find it is the best one i've used so far.I will always try and buy any products which aren't tested on animals.All the main hair dye brands in the main street shops are all tested on animals, and i won't be apart of it anymore.So i found this brand which don't test on animals.Also they don't contain any of the nasty chemicals which they put in the 'main stream' hair dyes.I'm only 40 and have been dying my hair for years. And like any hair dye the dye does wash out, even with using a permanent dye.I only use it to mainly dye my roots, for me the box of dye (containing two bottles) lasts me a month or two as i only mix up a little at time for what i need it for.My hair feels good using this product. I did use Clairol before and i noticed how my head felt itchy and feel an irritation. After years of dying it and using high street permanent dyes(Superdrug)there came to a point where the dye wouldn't take to my hair anymore.Not long after dying it, then normal washing it, most of the dye would wash straight out again. I think my hair had enough horrible chemicals on and was trying to tell me to stop! :-) Which i did.Finding this product which has the more natural ingredients in it, i can honestly say that i haven't had any issue of the dye running straight out, like it did before. Which i'm really happy about..For me buying this hair dye is a no brainer. It's not tested on animals, has no horrible chemicals which burn and irritate your head and make it sore! It's what i want from a hair dye!.. :-)Becky

Worked well for me
I used this when I was pregnant, as I wanted to avoid the usual chemical nasties found in my tried and tested brand. I wasn't expecting it to be too great, and the price seemed a bit steep, but I gave it a go and was pleasantly surprised by the results. It went on well and was a nice, natural-looking black, much like my usual brand (Nice and Easy). The most impressive thing for me was how well it lasted on my hair. It didn't wash out or fade at all really, so it was just when my roots grew back a bit that it needed doing again, just as with my usual brand.

Good things and bad things
Good things : Bought this product in order to cover my grey hairs. Not smelly, doesn't feel heavy on your scalps, and not too sticky to my bathroom floors compared to other products. I only did one layer and the grey hairs have gone.. The color will look like natural black (not shiny) which is good.Can't tell you how long it will stay on because I'm posting this on my second day after using the product.Bad things : the gell consistency is on the thin side but not too thin (1:1 ratio), it will make a bit challenging while applying this product.

Misleading labelling as ‘herbal’- this contains hydrogen paroxide
Misleading labelling as ‘herbal’ when it has hydrogen paroxide & other chemical with strong unpleasant smell. I used it accidentally thinking it is entirely natural, like henna and hibiscus. Severe headache and not pleasant. Hard on hair. I have carefully avoided using hydrogen paroxide containing hair colours until this one. I accept my fault for not reading the small prints; it is a common mistake by customers. The label should be changed to not to mislead customers. Thanks

I used to buy herbatint all the time and this one didn't seem the same as previous boxes I'd bought. The colour didn't seem to hold and my hair wasn't as conditioned after.

Does a fantastic job
Omg amazing! As I’ve aged I have become allergic to hair dyes tried nearly every one on the market without success. I have now found this product which does leave my scalp a bit itchy for a couple of days but have no welts on my scalp at all, wish I’d found found this a year ago.

Great permanent hair dye
One of the best permanent hair dyes as it contains less harsh ingredients that the mainstream brands. It covers white and grey hair really well. I like that the bottle is box enough for 2 applications (unless you have long hair). Easy to apply, no bad reaction on me. Price is also great.

Been using over 20yrs
Been using this for over 20yrs. Always been happy with it . Shoulder length hair . I use just over half then the rest the next time . Thanks herbatint x
