Castle - The Complete Season 8 [DVD]

Liked everything.

As an avid Castle fan I approached the final season with trepidation, having read the stories and feedback concerning the final ending and cancelation of the series. I was tempted to give 4 stars but finally decided on 5 as I believe the individual storyline reached the same level as those that have gone before. After 7 years that is an incredible achievement, but for me it meant having to separate the over arching LokSat conspiracy that runs through the entire season.At best I found it an unneccessary distraction and for a number of reasons it did not fit into the previous Castle style. It left me baffled as to what it was meant to achieve. Perhaps a very different cliffhanger and ending if Season 9 had gone into production? It allowed for the introduction of two new characters Hayley Shipton, who is terrific, and Vikram Singh and perhaps if the rumours around the lack of contracts being offered to Stana Katic and Tamala Jones are true, there was to be a Castle without Beckett and without the NYPD?Before watching this season I was of the same opinion as the majority of fans, that it was an impossibility. Now I am not so sure. A darker Castle character centred around the PI agency, or even the cold and historical cases from the files of the Greatest Detective Society, allowing the action to regularly take place beyond New York. In this he would been ably supported by Hayley and Vikram, as well as Martha and Alexis etc, but not the NYPD. That could still run, the original ending was a dream, or Beckett is referred to but never seen?

Great series. Loving watching it all again.

I really enjoy Castle, a series that doesn't take itself seriously, its about entertaining viewers no more no less and it does consistently. My only gripe is that i wish they stuck with the brave ending rather than the cop out, predictable happy one that we actually got. Endings don't always have to be happy!

Ok bit of a weird ending here, if like me you have been a fan of the series from day 1, it's a bit like the ending of 'Charmed' where it makes no sense, I mean why put them dying in one scene and the next they are alive and have got a load of kids running around, it makes no sense to my mind.... And Nathan Fillon hasn't he gained an awful lot of weight during the entire series ( sorry an all that, all you Nathan fans) but I think that he has, I mean of course he has the right to I suppose, but from the very first opening scene to the last... It looked to my mind that he had..

Really Good so far only on disc 2 I have enjoyed them all from 1 to 7 now series 8 enjoyable don't get tired of watching them 100% better than TV.This is my second review on this season eight and I have to say it was very enjoyable, but I think the end could have been extended for a bit more of a conclusive ending with family and friends from work but it was still a good season to watch thank you. michael

The Castle series changed as it went through from series one to now eight, if you were there at the beginning you'll enjoy this series, I think the series got more lighthearted as the relationships developed with the characters. Very easy to watch, if you've got a spare hour or two then this is a good way to spend it.Shame this is the last one but all good programs have a finite life.

I’ve watched Castle from the very start of season one and I’ve enjoyed it, the only thing is that I found the ending confusing.

Needed last season.
