Alexander Salt & Pepper shakers
Purchased an 8” for Salt and a 9” one for pepper. Assembled easily. Tops are a bit wobbly for such an expensive grinder.I checked all the competition and Amazon had the best price plus free shipping. Do your research or you may overspend. Sometimes buying individually is less expensive.Brass is nice but since I have a gas range, I will watch for tarnishing. Mine are displayed on a riser made from a Lucent Quartzite cutting board.Pleased so far…

Great product!
I have been trying to find this pepper grinder for some time after seeing it being used on a cooking show. Ordered it in the past but, never received it due to shipping issues. It does a great job of giving me different grind quality. It also looks great and a good value for the money.

This seems to be a very nice pepper mill. It doesn't have the marketing of the pepper cannon, and it doesn't seem to be nearly as popular. I'm not sure how much better something like that is compared to this. It's really the only pepper mill that I have owned besides the one that I grew up with and the plastic grinders included on some peppercorn containers. This grinder seems to work very well, though, and I like the leverage that the handle provides.I think this might be BIFL-quality, but time will have to tell. Others with this mill generally seem to be happy, but others have noted deterioration in some of the components. I think it's important to follow the manual which notes things that you shouldn't do with it in regards to usage and cleaning.

Will probably last forever
1. Do not put salt in it (corrodes metal mechanism)2. Do not wash it with water (oxidizes the metal/brass)Outside of those limitations this thing is solid and hefty and very easily grinds. Probably will last forever. Can change the grind size with a screwdriver. Only minor thing I could say is the lid is somewhat loose even when everything is screwed on.
