AMAZING!!! Definitely worth buying!!!
Phenomenal product! Works way beyond my expectations!!!I bought two of them to work as a repeaters for a very long run of cable (150m) across my building site from the public fibre connection to my mobile home here in Western Ireland so I wanted cheap and cheerful rather than wasting the costs on a fibre link as it is only temporary until my house is built. Before I split the cable to go crimping I just tried them end to end to see how they worked... to my astonishment they worked brilliantly with ZERO packet loss! I was using similar brand switches (but I won't mention the manufacturer as I don't want to defame any other product as the distance to be fair is beyond the max Ethernet length) and it had severe packet loss, but now I am able to keep my long cable length without cutting it mid section to install a switch as a repeater and work away without having to fork out hundreds of Euro on fibre optic cable that I might only use for a few months more. The device is really nice too and very tiny, has no annoying fan and literally works away without any fuss! The Ireland and UK power plug is nice and neat too unlike the horrible brick of thing with the previous product I was using. I'm laying blocks on my house that are smaller than that last power supply plug I was using :) The D-Link one is just slightly larger than an Apple iPhone charger so very handy if you want to install it in an IP66 enclosure for example where space is tight. So whatever your need for a quick and handy switch/hub this is your toy! I don't normally give such reviews but I am so amazed by the product I think it is only fair! And for such a tiny price too! As I say I thought it would be basic and just get me out of a problem... I had no idea it would be this good.

Great product
My new BT Hub 2 has fewer Ethernet ports than its predecessor so I needed a small switch so that I could just plug the existing cables in without the need for a serious network reorganisation. It works well and, the main reason for buying this particular switch, it's extremely compact. Which ironically, is a bit of pain because it is so light that with cables plugged in it won't sit down on the shelf next to the BT hub because the cables have to turn 90 degrees almost immediately into a hole in the shelf!! It still works, of course, but it just looks silly sticking up in the air :) I'll try sticking it down with a Command strip. However, I can still thoroughly recommend this product particularly if you need something that looks good - and doesn't cost much.

Simple and works.
Small, relatively cheap and does what it says on the tin. If you need to split one ethernet connection into four others then this does the job perfectly.

Excellent switch for the money
I have been using one of these downstairs for about 3 years and never had a problem. Bought the second one for upstairs. It is small, quiet and unassuming! Does the job with no fuss at all.

Simple to use and very reliable
Purchased to extend the number of outlets near the TV. I needed 1 for the TV, 1 for the PS4, 1 for my Amp, and 1 for my Bluray Player. This being a 5 port, lets me do all that. You plug the "live" LAN cable in, and plug your 4 others in that you want the connection shared with and just power up and you are good to go. Really simple to set up with no other installing required and no other IT knowledge needed. Works brilliantly.

Great device - bargain price
Does exactly what it says on the tin!Tiny device, very easy to hide. Plug it into the mains and plug the network cables in here and there are no issues whatsoever. All devices connected have strong connection to the main router with speed tests showing no drop in speed at all.Very pleased with this product. Have been using it for a few weeks now and still not had one issue.

Small and perfect
The media could not be loaded. Allows me to connect the printer to the BT whole home system along with 3 other ethernet connects. Really surprised at how cheap these things are.

So easy to use! Needed to split one Tenda GigaBit Powerline Adapter LAN connection between two Laptops.Unit has 5 RJ45 sockets.Plug the my Cat6 cable from the Powerline adapter into any of the 5 RJ45 switch sockets.Plug the 2 cables from the 2 Laptops into any of the remaining 4 switch sockets. That's it. RTG. Works fabulously well.

Very simple to use and great speed
With everyone working at home it was time to put a couple of our computers onto our LAN and take some pressure off the WiFi. This little switch was the right price, quick delivery and works great.

Pure Plug and Play with expected 1G performance on all Ports
I installed 4 of the D-Link switches with a mix of 5 and 8 port types connected to a Netgear R6700v3 router with 1G ports and to each other to improve my home network backbone to 1G to reach 4 corners of the house. This particular 8 port switch is at the home entertainment center so lots of streaming and data usage. The switch performed wonderfully. Read on for how I evaluated the switch. -- These are very small and light, much smaller then the impression left from viewing the pictures. -- There is nothing more to the installation then plug it in and power it up. -- Its connects to all 8 ports almost instantly. I reach back to plug it in and view the front and all the ports were connected . -- The ethernet ports on the rear are well labeled and the numbers easily read. -- What is a true convenience is that the lights on the front phsically match the port on the back. Many other switchs reverse the order and its a total annoyance. On this switch draw a line from the port lights to the connector to know which connector is was activity light. nice! -- The front lights are easily seen. The ports show different colors for the speed, green for 1G and yellow for 100m. -- On other switches I've used when cascaded like this there seemed to be some limit to the number of cascades but with these and in my network they all operated no problem. -- Very very light and can be easily attached to desktop using double side foam tape and it holds in place when cables are attached. -- How about speed performance? I have all 8 ports used to include a TV, Blu-ray player, 2 home security DVRs which (all 100M ports) are all streaming video for this test. The TV and the Blue-ray are streaming 4K UHD video. In addition I have a laptop (with 1G port) and the R6700 router (also 1G port) connected plus 2 standalone IP security cameras (100M ports). The port light colors were correct, Green for the router and PC and yellow for all others. I could tell no difference in the 4K streaming user interface or video performance when connected through the 8 port switch or when connected directly to the router. Every device connected through the switch performed perfectly without any hint of data slowdown. I did a speed test from my PC for the broadband service and I hit the maximum data rate provided by the ISP.One thing could be improved: -- I wish there was something to attach them to a surface. There are no mounting holes . Its a smooth small box. Conclusion: Other than some 2 sided tape for mounting this is a perfect, fast and economical plug and play 1G switch.
