Maywe Tanso Kitchen Tongs are overall sturdy Stainless steel and open easily. The Amazon listing is confusing though because I thought both pairs had silicone tips, however, only the 9-inch pair has silicon on both the tips and handle. It's fine though since I can use the larger 12" pair on my outdoor grill.The Bottom Line: Solid Pair of kitchen tongs for $7.39, i just wish both pairs had silicone on the tips.

For the price, (approx. $5 at the time I am writing this review), I would say that these kitchen tongs are worth it. I have another pair that my boyfriend purchased a while back, & he can't remember how much he paid for those, but they were heavier and a little better quality than these...for example, these do not come with silicone on the actual tongs, whereas the other ones do. They have silicone that you can grip on the handle, and I assume this is to keep them cool to the touch when cooking with them. The stainless steel feels a little flimsy, but not as bad as some others. I'd say they are a good budget buy, & I think they would hold up well. Here are the things that I liked about them: They are stainless steel and silicone, so they are easy to wash and healthier to use than other materials, when cooking. They are great for serving, too! We used them for an Italian Pasta Salad, and they worked very well. The tongs are scalloped and generously sized to grab a good amount, without being too big or overwhelming. I like the locking feature...you simply push the little circle on the end to release the lock, which allows you to open and close them and use the tongs as intended...and then pull the circle back up to lock them in place, in a closed position. They are super easy to wash...I just threw them into the dishwasher; no problems! They're versatile, and can be used for a lot of different purposes...fetching things from boiling water, transferring things or serving things like pasta, or even chicken. You could use them on the grill, or at the stovetop. They'd be easy to throw into a backpack and take them camping! So, I think they are awesome for that reason...and cheap enough where you could just replace them if something ever happened to them or if you lost them. Now, the things I didn't care for... They feel a little light/cheap. Not too bad, at all, but just noteworthy. I do wish they had come with the silicone on the ends, as an option, but at this price point I still think they are a good buy. Also, they don't come in any kind of real packaging...it's just a plastic bag, for the most part...incase you're thinking of gifting them, you'd definitely want to wrap them. The thing I am not crazy about, (and this is true for most of these tongs, not just these in particular)...is that food gets caught in the hollow part of the handle. A LOT of food. It's difficult to get out, and clean, and it's kind of gross...it's a little messy for that reason, and kind of a waste. I tried to show it in one of the pictures that I uploaded, (see the one with the blue arrow, for reference). That being said, I still think these would be a good buy, at this price point, and I think they are versatile enough to make a perfect addition to the kitchen! I hope this review helps!

The media could not be loaded.  This tong set comes with one large metal-end one & a smaller silicone-tipped one. They both work well. They grab as intended and easy to grip hard.The silicone-covered ones I like to use to grab my trays out of my counter-top ovens or grabbing items from inside my Le Creuset cooking vessels to avoid scratching them. The metal ones I like using with fried foods or grabbing food from under the broiler (since the silicone could be damaged).The locking mechanism on the top is easy to use one-handed & I like the ring on top of it, which you could hang from a hook for storage/easy access. The inside edges are not sharp & folding the edges in makes them stronger.I highly recommend this item.

I needed a set of tongs for food prep. Turning food while frying in my cast iron pans. I don't have much non-stick cookware, but these tongs are not designed to be used in non stick pans. They will scratch the coating.They are however a very good replacement of the popular brand of kitchen tongs made by OXO. They have the locking mechanism to keep them closed in the drawer, the metal is of good gauge and will not easily deform or bend. The spring is also of good quality and the rivet that is used on the pivot point appears to be pressed in from both sided, rather than just one side of a hollow tube flared back on itself.The item arrived in simple packaging, as noted in the photo.While it is not identical to the popular brand mentioned above, this is a good quality cooking tool.
