Yellow Blue Lava motion Lamp

I had my doubts about this item when ordering as I remembered the one from my childhood taking a depressingly long time to heat up and then not doing much for several hours after. But this one is BRILLIANT! It heats up much faster than my previous one and despite having quite a clear blue liquid background looks great. The lamp came perfectly intact and well protected along with a light bulb- Thanks!I actually bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas but I'm making the most of it until then!!I absolutely love these lava lamps and I thin I might have to buy myself one after I've given my boyfriend this one!They light the room surprisingly well too and are great as nightlights for little kids.Warning - they are mesmerising and you will find yourself sitting and staring at them for hours on end!

Effective and durable. It is everything we wanted in a lava lamp. It has been left on (by accident) over night a couple of times and still works really well. Well packaged and has made a striking addition to my son's bedroom. Will get one for my younger son when he is a bit older.

Takes some time to actually get flowing like is has to (1 hour) but when it does, it looks good, just like an expensive one.This particular one looks even more beautiful as the yellow lava turns green in the blue water, so it actually changes color while moving up and down inside the glass.I got this as a gift for my niece, i think she'll like it.

I bought this for one of my sons at Christmas for 9.29. This lamp worked for a few weeks, then gradually got really dark and mirky and looked horrible. The base also got scarily hot and it took ages to work once switched on. The yellow / dull blobs all stuck together and formed a waxy horrible shape. I tried to get a refund for this poor product and the supplier - E Bargains UK couldn't have been more unhelpful - they told me to take pictures so that I wouldn't need to send it back but then after faffing around and sending the pictures which clearly show the problem, they then asked me to return it anyway!! I have thrown it in the bin - it's not worth the cost of packaging or the hassle. My other son was bought a different make of lava lamp (from Amazon but a different supplier - Trendi) for 9.95 at the same time and his is still working brilliantly. Advice - don't buy from E Bargains UK.

Totally satisfied with the purchase. The lamp suits perfectly both as a wake-up light and a meditation device, relaxing and fascinating. As other reviewers said, the actual perceivable colour of the wax turns out to be "mysterious" green that in my opinion makes the lamp even more spectacular as the wax blobs rise and descend. The lamp takes about 2.5 hours to start flowing during the first usage, about 2h on the second run and ~1.5h afterwards, as the wax becomes more uniform and gooey. The best performance can be enjoyed starting from about 3.5h of operation.An obvious yet necessary note for those ordering the lamp from outside UK: keep in mind (for some reason, I did not) that it has a UK wall socket-compatible plug, so you will have to replace it with a European plug yourself. This can be done very easily, though, as there is no soldering inside the plug, and the wires are detached without any problem. By the way, the wire is equipped with a switch as well.Overall, two thumbs up!

I do love these lava lamps, this is the second one I've bought but don't be fooled by the picture on amazon, it is blue & yellow, not blue & green as mentioned in other reviews, the reason I mention this is that I've seen the blue & yellow lamp on another page for a lower price....it is the same lamp. The blue is more of an aqua colour & the yellow looks greener when nearer the top of the lamp & yellow when at the bottom, hope this helps anyone looking to buy!

Christmas present that arrived in plenty of time and boxed well. Switched on Christmas morning and waited- and waited- and waited and a sizeable globule bulged from the bottom of the lamp but just sat there.......for five hours!Moved lamp to kitchen work surface for a closer look (careful these get really hot).Took cap off glass and glass off base. All seemed ok. Put glass back and cap and switched on.Within two minutes the blobs were rising and falling?????Can only think the glass wasn't sitting firmly on the base despite looking ok.Back on the dining room shelf and it bubbles nicely.

I've had this lamp for over 4 months now and it's still as fab as the first night we used it. Initially it was placed near the window and being a cold winter night in January, it didn't work. So changed locations and that did the trick.My toddler loves it and calls it the magic lamp. The light is dim enough to soothe bedtime and bright enough for him to get up and move about with ease.
