A GREAT NIGHT HAD BY ALL
We had our murder mystery night last Friday and it was a great success. I sent out the invites in good time so the guest could sort out their costumes, all of which were pretty easy to source. The guest did a great job and looked the part including the dummy. I did the table as pretty as I could and decorated the room with pictures of Paris and we bought a CD of french music which set the scene. The DVD worded well and there is everything you need in the pack to make for a great party. I did a 3 couse meal and even did a menu,we also put signs around the (hotel) stating reception, toilets and the restaurant, all of which added to the fun evening. Two quest's got the correct person for the murder.I would advise an early start to give you time to relax and enjoy both the meal and the game, we started at 6pm and the guests left at 01.15am. I handed out nibbles and drinks on arrival then we sat in the "restaurant "and checked out the first page of the booklet whilst the starter cooked. It all worked so well, this is the first one I have hosted after being a guest at two others, I must say that it did take quitre a bit of thought and planning but I LOVED IT.

Great night in!
Whilst we all had a great evening, we felt that this game didn't flow as well as Pasta, Passion and Pistols. The DVD was a good touch, dodgy French Hercule McClue was funny and helped to summarise each 'course' of the evening. The characters were easy enough to create costumes for, though we didn't stick to a 1900s theme. If you choose this one, make sure someone has access to a puppet of some kind, it's essential!! I downloaded some French cafe/accordion music and tried decorating the table as opulent as possible to reflect the Parisian hotel. I played with the menu as we didn't fancy the suggested Quails eggs etc but our dessert was pure 'Death By Chocolate' in keeping with the game! It was a great evening, lots of laughs and silly references/innuendos and the dodgy French accents were hilarious. If this is your first Murder Mystery game, personally I'd suggest trying Pasta, Passion and Pistols as this one just didn't seem to flow as well. Have fun!

Excellent game
This was my first Murder Mystery evening and I hosted. Chose this game due to the reviews and characters sounded interesting. It was great fun and very successful evening. Brilliant price too.We watched the intro, played first round, questioned the suspects and then ate- did this for each course. I didn't follow the menu but did an easy seafood starter and Gordon Ramsey's beef bourg which was followed by chocolate torte- all prepared the night before so has d little work on the day. I bought crime scene tape and drew a body in the floor in chalk and got the dead body fun napkins off this site. Really good evening and fun game.

Makes for a fun evening at a great price
Bought this for our second murder mystery dinner evening and wasn't disappointed. Everyone had fun, including a more quiet friend who wasn't looking forward to it at all! The mixture of having short scripted dialogues, video clips to summarize the evidence and the opportunity for improvisation, with some great accents, was a perfect mix. The more you make up the more fun it is. I didn't bother with the suggested menu but it's important to have food that won't keep you in the kitchen. None of us worked out 'whodunnit' (which the murderer only learns near the end) but that didn't matter at all. Do dress in character! 2 of the 8 characters are optional but it's better to use them all, as we did.

Check your contents first as if they are not all there it can spoil a good night
Actually I was bitterly disappointed with this game, I have never played a murder mystery game before and had actually bought this as a family treat for Easter Sunday evening for my husband and I and our 3 daughters and their husbands. I had deliberately not looked at the packaging as I had been told that it would be more fun on the night so sent out only the invites with the names written on them sealed so until opened, none of us knew who we would be. On the evening, having made the recommended meal [as suggested in the party planner] I placed the booklets out as set in the party planner to find I had 2 Dr Sigmund Fraud booklets and 2 Little Fitz booklets and no booklet for Mike Bison and Dame Barbara Carthorse! A bit of a damper to the evening! Everyone had come suitably dressed as suggested in the invitations and we had to muddle on as best we could with no booklets for 2 major characters. On the whole I would do a murder mystery evening again but would check first to make sure that all the props are there. It was just a shame that it spoilt the evening it bit.

Fantastic entertainment great fun!
This was our first go at a murder mystery dinner party and it was really good fun. Everybody got into character and into costume. Because it was our first time, round 1 was a little confusing but once we got the idea it was excellent. We used the extra characters and it was fine they had idea that they were extra characters. It took us 5 hours to play inbetween 4 courses. We didn't follow the recipies in the game instead we used a slow cooker and steamed veg for our main course so that we were not stuck in the kitchen. Our guests provided a starter, desert and cocktails so that was also a really good help. I am actually going to order another game and can't wait for our next party! Hope you have as much fun as us :-)

I wasn't the murderer
Used this game as the main celebration for my sister in law's 70th birthday party at a large house in the Lake District. The game is well packaged with all necessary instructions, invitations etc included on good quality stationery. The game suited our age ranges from 28 to 70. The game started off at a cracking pace but slowed a lot in the latter stages as half of us hadn't done a murder mystery before and I think would have found it beneficial to become familiar with the character beforehand - not what they have to do on the night but to become more familiar with how the character should look and act. I would recommend this game but would, as the host, pick out some notes about the character the person is playing to send out with the invitation.

Great way to entertain a small group
We have been hosting murder mystery dinners for a few years and loved this one. The cast is comprised of eight adults, of which there are no "couples' " roles. The box came complete with character booklets, invitations and envelopes, the party planner's handbook, exhibits, and a DVD (which helped guide the event through the dinner courses and separated the sections of the game). The plot was simple - which allowed a LOT of improvisation and a LOT of laughter. We are hoping to purchase more from Paul Lamond - even though it must be shipped from amazon.uk. Highly recommend this game for something different to talk about over dinner.

Great fun for gatherings.
My family did this for Easter supper this year and we had a blast. Everyone had such a good time I was really glad I tried it. If your guests are willing to be a bit goofy and ham up a bit you will really enjoy this acting game. We did get a bit lost and confused in a few places, sometimes the dialogue questions don't flow and it is a bit unclear of when to dialogue and when to watch the dvd but it was still a lot of fun.The game lends itself that multiple scenarios could have been created. However there is only one on the DVD.

Wir haben sehr viel gelacht! :)

Fun, but some suggestive language
I purchased for my 12 yo bday party. I read a few reviews that said some of the language was not for kids but then I read some that said it was fine. I took a stab at it. We ended up just skipping over the suggestive language parts, and it was fun! The tweens all enjoyed it.
