I have found the perfect combination that is helping me lose weight. First off let me tell you that I lost 50+ pounds the good old fashioned way...diet and exercise. I don't think I ever have seen a product with so many 5 star and 1 star reviews. I am not an "expert" when it comes to tea. Like many I've been drinking more and more as the health benefits continue to be touted. I've been looking for an alternative to green tea...especially as a coffee replacement in the AM. I tried a couple of different varieties from local health food stores. I'd say that this product falls squarely between those two. All 3 have a similar taste so I must say that I am a bit confused about claims that it's taste is off. It's got the same "strong" but somehow mellow taste as the others. I'd compare it to coffee...good coffee can be "bold" without a lingering aftermath that makes you reach for the sugar to protect your palette.If your looking for a good AM tea that can be a more then reasonable coffee replacement I'd highly encourage you to give this a try. I normally drink my coffee with cream but no sugar and find I don't need any sugar with this unlike some black breakfast teas that leave a strong aftertaste.Very happy and will certainly order again...

After reading The Tea Girl fo Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See, I had to get this tea. Additionally, my cholesterol was just over 200 and so I thought this might be a good survey. I had my blood work done and started this delightful, beautiful tea daily. After 5 months, my cholesterol was around 170 and my tea cup was slightly stained with the delicious evidence that this tea does its job - on all levels. I recommend this to so many people. If you have a chance to try this satisfying tea, please do it. I've ordered more of these bags (I have the loose tea too, but the bags are so nice) and have my cupa every day.

Drink with caution! I only drank it once, and within five minutes of starting to drink it I got a headache and felt a lot of pressure in my eyeballs. I looked up the side effects of this tea and found on webmd.com that people with glaucoma and high blood pressure shouldn't drink it. I don't have either of those conditions and yet it elevated the pressure in my eyes. The effect went away completely in about an hour. Needless to say, I will not drink this tea again. I gave it to my parents who had no issues with it. The taste is very good and light. Please research this tea and consult with your doctor before drinking if you have medical conditions.

This is a honestly good tea given the price, it doesn't have the complex aroma and aftertaste of the more expensive teas, but for this price is amazing cosidering it's 80% as good for less than half of the price.Pu Erh is a polarizing tea: people either love it or hate it. An advantage of the reduced price is that you can give it a try without expending too much, if you like it you can try the more expensive and flavourful blends.If you're looking for an everyday Pu Erh tea without breaking the bank or just want to find if it's for you this is an excellent tea, but if you're a connoisseur maybe you'd like to try somewhere else.

I am a lifelong tea drinker and consider myself quite versed in black teas. I have made Ahmad # 1 English tea my daily tea for several years , and order it from Amazon,too. I read about the Pu Erh tea in an article that Alice Waters is quoted for making it now her "go to" tea due to its healthful properties. Any health benefits will be an added bonus, as this is a delicious tea.It is similarly priced to Ahmad teas ,which I consider excellent ,especially iced. Living in the deep south, finding a tea that is strong and tasty enough to drink over ice, can be a challenge without immediately watering down good tea. This is a very good tea. I saw on Dr. Oz how pu erh tea is supposed to shrink fat cells and help you lose weight. So I bought this pu erh tea on Amazon after reading the great reviews. Be forewarned: this tea smells and tastes like an old musty basement. It is not an enjoyable "earthy" tasting tea. It's gross. It literally tastes like I went down into a 100 year old dirt floor basement, swept it, and spooned the dirt into a tea bag. It doesn't taste like tea at all. I'm not saying this particular brand of tea is bad - I don't know - all pu erh probably tastes like this for all I know (pu erh is a fermented tea so maybe that is where the bad taste comes from). I tried adding honey, apple pie spice, and even apple slices to try and cover the awful taste, but it didn't help make it taste any better. I drank about 1/3 of a cup before I gave up. So for anyone out there who has never had pu erh and would like to try it for it's weight loss benefits but hates old smelly basements... find a different tea. White tea is supposed to be great at helping prevent fat storage AND it tastes great, so try that!

This tea needs some getting used to by the Western Palette.... but the health properties were highly recommended by my Qigong teacher. Supposedly this is the tea that is on all Chinese tables and that they drink with every meal and is said to help with digestion as well as weight loss. I am glad I bought it but I need to get used to it......!
