HONEYWELL V4073 Replacement Synchronous Motor for motorised valve

My hot water had failed and it had all the hallmarks of a failed motorised valve – worked wine when manually thrown. So I replaced the motor – easy to do and new crimps provided. Had it all done in just a few minutes. Fired it up and…..no hot water! Stupidly, I should have checked the feed. I wasn’t getting any power to the motor when the thermostat was calling for heat, so I thought that had gone, but then realised there was no feed to the tank stat either. Turned out the clock had failed, but all looked like it was working. This was replaced and all working again.Despite me not needing to replace the motor, the replacement is happily working and a lot cheaper than replacing the entire valve.

That's my hot water sorted in under 30 mins ,including getting the floorboards up (no carpet). Had to do this about 15 years ago,bought the part from a big builder's merchant and I think it cost more or I had to buy the whole valve just to get the motor. Fast delivery.

Exactly the part I need for my Y valve to repair without replacing the whole valve assembly.You do need some tools to crimp the connectors and make the connections and you do need to know about electric safety practices so not one for the amateur really.Part can run quite hot and was the reason for old one failing so it may need repairing again in a couple of years.

Quite easy to fit, changing this saved me £148.00 for a complete valve assembly

Did the job. A lot cheaper than replacing the whole unit which costs about 80 quid!
